There's a serious thing behind these stories - the impact of climate change on global food supplies. We are starting to see the first effects - vegetable and salad shortages caused by unusually severe weather in Southern Europe. Note that even this relatively minor effect has been sufficient to cause big supermarkets to introduce rationing. Things can get much, much worse and they probably will before too many years have passed.

It is hardly rationing being limited to 3 iceberg lettuces and 2 courgettes. There is no need to panic.

Good. The population is increasingly obese and unhealthy. Bacon is drizzling with fat, I had some after being pestered by friends and found it to be overrated.
