It depends on the person.
If they like to be controlled by themselves, thinking that it is some external force commanding it, and they're happy doing so, then good on them.
I could never find happiness in religion. I saw the laws and regulations as absolutely absurd, and some of the content of the "holy" texts themselves as abhorrent. I, then, asked myself "why do I even believe in the first place?". I didn't find any other answer than societal circumstances, so I distanced myself. I couldn't be happier.

But not because of religion, or religious beliefs. It is because of the increased socialisation church attendance brings. And it only applies in religious countries, which Britain (and Europe in general) is not.

No one said everyone would find happiness from religion. I clearly said "probably" NOT "definitely."
