Trump stumbles from one disaster to the next

I do not support Trumps, I mean Steve Bannons presidency but In your point about Micheal Flynn being a Russian spy the phone call was actually over the CRASH OF A RUSSIAN AIRLINER IN THE BLACK SEA ON CHRISTMAS day.
So if phoning up the Kremlin to give his condolences over the DEATHS OF 92 CIVILIANS makes him a spy then he should be put on Joseph McCarthy's blacklist.

I agree that Trumps presidency has been an utter shambles and I hope he enjoyed watching Finding Dory (reminder son barron is in NYC) whilst airports were in chaos over his travel ban.

I strongly supported Trump partly in order because I did not want the vile Hillary to become President. I do not regret doing so. He can always be impeached, or forced to resign, or failing that, be overthrown via a military coup, so it is far from the end of the world if his presidency results in unmitigated failure.

You are happy to strongly support a president who you are fine with being impeached or overthrown by a military coup (mind you, we are talking about America) just so that "vile Hillary" would not become president?

Much aside from that being crazy, the level of hatred towards someone you don't even know is mind-boggling.

I'd add, on this excellent point, this is something I find extremely concerning. Large swathes of the new alt-right movement are extremely unpatriotic, indeed they basically hate the West and love Russia. They completely buy into the Chomskyite / Corbynite mindset. It's just that they come at it from a different angle.

The hard left loves Putin because he is basically the inheritor of the proprietary love the bore the Soviet Union, and because they view Russia as the main opposition to the evil "imperialist" West. The alt-right loves Russia because they correctly view him as being an exemplar of the fascist Traditionalism movement, as a reaction against modernity and reason (Bannon's political hero, Julius Evola, felt that society started going downhill when we abandoned the geocentric model of cosmology).

All these years, I took it for granted that much of the left held nutty foreign policy views. But whilst there was a sane minority faction in the left along with a staunch pro-patriotic conservative right (even though I disagreed with them on economic policy), we were able to maintain a sensible, robust foreign policy. With the rise of the alt-right, and their moral relativism as against the West and Russia, the whole basis for a sane foreign policy comes under threat.

Chomsky doesn't love Russia or the Soviet Union.

He described the collapse of the Soviet Union as a small victory for socialism which he could only get published in some anarchist journal as other more mainstream left journals wouldn't accept it. His critique of the soviet union goes back to Bakunin vs Marx in the first international.

As someone who is hard left I can tell you I don't like the Russian state or Putin. Hard left =/= regressive left.

The difference between Trump and Clinton is that if she had been in charge most of these people would have had sudden seizures/heart attacks/car accidents/suicides and numerous other unexplained deaths.

You're joking right? You don't actually believe this?

Flynn's call was about lifting sanctions, not the downed flight. He broke the law as well, since he was a private citizen attempting to carry out foreign policy for the US, which is illegal.

Flynn is also a lobbyist for Turkey and he dreamed up the conspiracy theory that the Turkey coup attempt against Erdogan was the work of US-based Turkish dissident Fethullah Gulen - this is now being used as a tool in Turkey to persecute thousands of people and carry out collective punishments on the left and the families of people thought to be involved.

He really is the most splendid fellow. There can't be anyone in the US better to be the head of their national security effort.

His supporters in Trump World don't seem to care. To the people that voted for him he is doing just fine. It's terrifying that even as he dismantles the infrastructure that keeps his voters alive they just keep cheering.

Just have a go at Clinton and see how long you last. You could be number 34!

Most of the US knows CNN as the Crooked News Network for good reason.

Anyone who is interested in the truth [and i recognise that this is a quite small proportion of the public], should look into how may ppl that have been closely associated with the Clintons have died in mysterious ways. Car "accidents", mysterious attacks on the street - by attackers who are never found or identified, "suicides" - where they supposedly shoot themselves in the head - but the gun is never found. Example of this is the guy they found in "Ft. Marcy Park" along the Potomac river. The "news" story was that he shot himself in the head with a .357 magnum. An off duty DC police officer, who had just shown up at the scene, said that when they rolled the body - he couldn't see a wound. They could not find the gun, nor could they find his car keys. His car was nearby, but securely locked. When they opened the car, there were no keys in it - anywhere. Magic!!!
