The number is 0300 123 1896, it's the final option.

I understand your frustration. The November Lisburn batch should be examined further by the relevant authorities because as far as I'm aware it was mainly failed candidates from another post that started over the heads of successful candidates for this campaign. Make of that what you will. Unfortunately due to the fact they want this campaign closed by April and the new Belfast office won't be ready until 2018 probably at the earliest, I expect most remaining people waiting a formal offer to have their offers rescinded. After that people should be looking at the fairness of the process.

WTF are you on about?!

First of all, the Lisburn posts were for HOs and mostly filled by internal staff who had applied for the campaign (and would have already been cleared) or those who were lucky enough to have had PECs completed at that time the staff were requested.
Secondly, the new HMRC office that is planned for Belfast will not be ready for years and when it is all HMRC staff will be based there - that includes Lisburn staff, but I don't see them being told to go home and wait 3 years while they build a new office.
HMRC have taken on about 100 new staff in Belfast in 2017 so they are still posting staff and I imagine they will continue to do so as they will end up losing out if they start rejecting new staff.
You don't seem to have any idea how it works but insist on taking the most negative possibility and making it a reality.

Finally, I see that there is a new job listed on the CSR site for 2x O grade in Belfast. These have been written up as specialist jobs but when you read through the JD they don't seem like anything special, and so could have been filled from the existing list. Upon seeing it for the first time I couldn't help but think to myself that the recruiting local office had seen your posts on here and has requested a specialist recruitment campaign to avoid getting lumbered with you off the existing list. If this is the case, I do not blame them!

I wish you'd stop referring to "failed candidates". The candidates who have recently been placed from another stream (ie, from CSR/1666/16) have been placed into HEO roles. These candidates are from a reserve list from last year's TSP. These candidates successfully met the required standard for the TSP assessment centre, tested at Grade 7 competencies, but were not in the top 200 candidates. Therefore they haven't "failed" anything. They've met the standard for Grade 7 roles and, as such, presumably have priority in a merit order placement for an HEO position. I'd wager that this is unrelated to your offer, so please stop casting doubts into peoples' minds who rightly have something to celebrate and have come here to find out more about timescales and other peoples' journeys through the process.

Is there ever a day that goes by without you talking absolute shite? If you can't make a single post without doing your best impression of Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh (and don't get me wrong - it's uncanny ) then perhaps you should reserve those particular angsts for the appropriate forum. Maybe TSR has a teenage poetry forum for you to express yourself in? If all else fails, grab a livejournal.

Hope that helps.

Well that would just justify the whole argument I have made. It hasn't been a fair process I've had political opinion that agrees with me so I am not a lone voice. At no other point when Provisional offers have been issued have people been waiting as long as the current batch have.
Maybe Jamz that politician stood up in Westminster for you after all. It may have involved a full investigation and therefore now you are waiting even longer for a government investigation into why one member of the public doesn't have a job! You could have started months ago otherwise and could now be your own worst enemy! The irony!

Not the case. Many people are waiting besides myself. Fact remains we received Offers in August at the same time as people who started in November for the same job grade and the fact we are still waiting is a joke. The internal argument that people who are internal Start first I understand but there are people who were external who started ahead of people who have been waiting longer which is unacceptable. They shouldn't make job offers they are incapable of honouring

Those people were assessed on competencies at G7 level and then offered posts dependent on their their results. Get your application in to Maccy D's

What location is that for?
As an HMRC SEO I have read through this thread and read a lot of nonsense from a variety of people whether that be current HMRC staff or applicants awaiting deployment in the department so let me shed some light on a number of matters if I can.

Firstly, no-one will lose an offer or be rejected from a post when it arises on the basis of comments they may or may not make on an internet forum contrary to suggestions otherwise. Even if that was the policy of withdrawal or disqualification which it isn't. there's absolutely no way of linking an internet forum profile to an applicant's name awaiting deployment for one thing and people suggesting otherwise are giving inaccurate information and I would advise all current HMRC members of staff to consider their responsibilities on these forums.

Secondly, in relation to those still waiting and becoming frustrated I urge patience. People posting here represent a small fraction of those being deployed and there is a lot of offers going out all the time. The department remains confident that the April 2017 deadline of issuing Formal Offers will be met. I agree to an extent with those complaining about the process in that there should have been a better co-ordination with the opening of new offices and the deployment of new Os/HOs however it is what it is. The department recognizes that in a recruitment campaign of this scale there is going to be rumor and speculation on internet forums and frustration will grow the longer it takes.
I would urge all current HMRC staff to bear this in mind. None of you would like to be in this position waiting for a position to arise with all the doubts and uncertainty still there and that's before considering the personal circumstances many of these applicants may or may not have and patronizing inconsiderate remarks will not make things any easier for them. So let's have some respect for each other and to those still waiting I remain very confident you will be deployed by April 2017.

I understand your urge for patience but the department needs more empathy, and to look at us as people with lives to lead, and not purely numbers.

I phoned two weeks ago for an update, I rang on Monday and was told the relevant person would call me back. Still waiting on that call.

I took this job in September and due to being told in the interview that the start date was October, I rejected another job offer I had that very same week.
Since then I've been stacking shelves 15 hours a week, no money, no career development. Because I choose to be a decent person, by not going into another full time job out of fear of wasting their time, resources and money in training, when I quit that job to go to HMRC. I now see that was a mistake.

The HMRC campaign has been conducted appallingly, whether you like it or not it has. Patience can only go so far when we have rent and bills to pay.

I'd love to have respect for each other, but unfortunately HMRC has afforded us with none. Don't know about you but I'd value respect from an employer above respect from an online forum user.

Well said mate. I am just as frustrated as anyone else about the whole thing and came on this forum for a bit of information. Unfortunately it has descended into petty, childish arguments.

I hope you're right and everyone is in post by April as it has been a complete joke up to now!

To be told in September that you have a job and "HMRC are eager for you to take up your position as quickly as possible" and have a 20 working days time frame dangled in front of you, only to then go quiet, showing you no consideration or respect for 7 months demonstrates that HRMC are seriously lacking suitable procedures or basic project planning abilities. And the 'scale' of the campaign is not an reasonable excuse as there are many other organisations that conduct similar sized recruitment campaigns, without the HR resource that HMRC have, and don't nearly have the same issues that have risen here; such as the misleading timeframes, lack of communication, security clearance documents expiring, etc.

I am sure that I am not the only one who has turned down other jobs as I thought a start date was just around the corner and as a result is considerably worse off financially.

No offence but it must be nice to be in post as an SEO with a regular pay check coming in every month. I hope we all are in a position soon where we can experience that comfort and the misery here has ended.

You say that the department are aware of rumour and speculation but they are doing nothing to mange it and help ease the minds of those stuck in limbo. There's so much speculation because we are not given a straight answer by CSR. I wouldn't mind the delay as much if I was just kept up to date and had confirmation from CSR about the current situation.

Also, it doesn't help that there is an endless stream of sh*t coming from trolls like Jamz, who seems determined to have anyone already slightly paranoid about an offer pushed completely over the edge. When faced with that kind of attitude people are going to react!

I appreciate you taking the time to post on here and put minds at ease - I really do and I really hope you are right! The comments might seem ridiculous to you, but how frustrated would you be, or how level-headed do you think you might be, if you couldn't be sure if that pay packet was ever going to come and your life was on hold indefinitely?
