So fellow Bartlett applicants, how much did you write in your additional statement?

This is turning out to be much harder than I imagined.....I had hoped that I would never have to write this kind of stuff again....

A bit late here, but I'm an international student and I've applied to Bath, UCL, Cardiff, Sheffield, and Kent. My overall IB predicted score is a 39 with 7, 6, and 5 for my HLs (which are Art, Physics, and Math), and I've gotten conditional offers from Bath and Kent, but I'm still waiting on UCL, Cardiff, and Sheffield. I'm getting a little worried because I sent my Cardiff portfolio almost 2 months ago but haven't gotten a reply yet :frown:
I've also handed in the Bartlett task but I sent it by post 5 days ago, and I hope it got there in time for the deadline which is today (and I live in Japan haha)
I'm living on the edge

I'm in the same boat right now, have no idea what to put. Most of the stuff I think of, I already put into the UCAS personal statement :dots:

Has anyone chosen MSA as their first choice?

quick qurstion...
why didnt anyone apply to the AA school?
if its cus of the fee, the reason only applies to the home students cus Bartlett is more expensive than the AA to the internationals...

I just cant figure out why since it is pretty renowned and have good course for architecture

In my case, they don't accept application for students who are under 18 by the time the school year starts.

200 words I guess. Everything I could think of has already been written in my UCAS PS.

Only 200? I might have to think about cutting mine down then, I have 500 or so...

I just ended up writing the same amount as my UCAS one, don't know if that's good or bad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Nope, no word limit. The only thing they said is that it has to fit in the form they give you which is roughly 3/4 of blank page.

Well although living in the UK at the moment, I am still considered international in terms of fees.

What I didn't like about the AA is that it is too narrowly specialised and is indeed a school, not university. I don't think you'll be able to get the full experience of uni life there. I also think that uni life is about meeting new and interesting people, and in the AA 99% of people you're gonna meet will be *future* architects.
And lastly, I am still not totally sure if my passion for architecture is strong enough to take me through the whole 7-years-process so if I want to transfer by the end of my 1st year, the AA is not the best place to be.

that being said, the AA has a great course and is a very good school if you're passionate about architecture:smile:

ah thanks for the reply!
so i guess its mostly cus ppl prefer to have an uni experience and a wider choice as they arent sure whether they wud want to continue their studies into architecture
i thought ppl didnt apply to AA cus they think the curriculum/edu of the school is not as good
i submitted my bartlett task on uth of feb and still nothing

prob be expecting a rejection 8D

Just be yourself and don't get too worked up over it. Go in there knowing you did the best you could. Good luck!

Btw, Edinburgh ABB??? I received my offer from them and it's AAA.....:s-smilie:
