You could argue that. Especially since Spice girls have been mentioned..

Anyway they're much more popular, recognised and iconic than some of the others I've mentioned.

I personally think these are the best bands of all time:

Led Zeppelin
Radiohead
Pink Floyd

This is an acceptable top 3.
At the risk of exposing myself as a hipster, maybe Tool is a shoutout that not many people would have thought to include.
Some of these are solo artists but whatever, it's all about the music.

Aphex Twin
Bjork
David Bowie
Kate Bush
CHIC
Cocteau Twins
The Cure
Brian Eno
Joy Division
Kraftwerk
Joni Mitchell
My Bloody Valentine
New Order
Pet Shop Boys
Prefab Sprout
Prince
Pulp
R.E.M.
Radiohead
Ride
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Slowdive
The Smiths
Talk Talk
U2
Wild Nothing
Wire

Including Prince but not Michael Jackson

If we are including solo artists, although I'm not particularly a massive fan I'd have Bob Dylan also.

Nice to see Talk Talk get a mention! I feel they're underrated and not known by most, which is a shame (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-12qAAsnSpM) because they're massively talented and their albums are great.
OP said Blur lmao

Yeah, they are great. The odd person might be aware of Life's What You Make It, but I doubt many have heard Spirit of Eden (which is easily one of my favourite albums - The Colour of Spring and Laughing Stock are obviously great too).

Their later albums are masterpieces... From Colour of Spring onwards. I love the It's My Life album too. Also their Asides Besides compilation album and the one live album they did.
I also have Mark Hollis's self-titled album, should give that a few more listens sometime.

Another brilliant underrated band are The Church. Have you ever heard of them?
