I'm currently stuck on accommodation!! I'm not sure whether to put unite house or new bridewell as my second choice. And all the third choice halls seem very much the same (Waverley, rackhay, favell) Please tell me anything you know about them that could help!!

Hi,

I'm wanting to be in Stoke Bishop and I don't really mind self catered or catered; I'm thinking about going for Hiatt Baker self catered (which seems so oversubscribed so it's a bit of a long shot) and then Will's as my second- is this a bad idea? Because I know Will's is already very competitive so does having it as a second choice, if i don't get Hiatt baker SC, mean I'm pretty much not going to get either of my choices?

I've noticed that Orchard Heights has both undergrad and postgrad students but I don't know if this is a good or a bad thing.. but anway I'm thinking of that, Goldney Hall or University Hall - can anyone offer any advice on them?

I don't know, you said you wanted an en suite and I wasn't sure whether you noticed that there was only a few rooms like that🙂

yeah I want an en suite, and self catered, and in the city. what course you studying?

They tend to put the postgrads in a flat together rather than mix with undergrads! But I have friends that have been in UH and Goldney this year and both have loved it (UH is further away from uni but stoke bishop halls are very social - UH are very close from what I've heard!) :smile:

Hi

I want to be catered and I'm thinking of putting Clifton Hill House as my first choice. All other catered options seem to be in Stoke Bishop, so I was considering putting Hiatt Baker as my second choice (I thought this might be a bit safer than putting Wills second?).

So my main question really is: would it be a waste of time/bad idea putting Wills second? Should I put Hiatt Baker second instead, would that be 'safer'? I don't want to end up with nothing!

I've just finished my first year and I can't recommend the Clifton halls (Goldney, Manor and Clifton Hill House) highly enough. They're all a good standard with nice gardens, in the most beautiful part of the city and only a really short 10 min walk to Uni. You'll really appreciate having a short walk to lectures as opposed to having to wait for and then catch a bus to and from uni all the time, which a lot of my friends couldn't be bothered to do and so skipped a lot of lectures.

Plus, you're still close to the city centre and only 5mins from the Triangle which is full of clubs. If you've got any questions about the Clifton halls feel free to message me - I was in Clifton Hill House but know a bit about both Manor and Goldney too.
