In case of WW3 what happens to international students?
Suppose there WILL be a WW3 in our lifetime.
Obviously eventually there's going to be some sort of conscription.
Now, the last time around there was a war on this scale, there weren't this many international students or even workers for that matter. The nationalism/patriotism feelings have toned down too, and there are many people who wouldn't do everything their governments tell them to.
In a world like this, talking about international students or workers, will they be conscripted too? If they are, for which country? Will they be arrested for being from an opposing country, as a spy? Would universities protect their students or turn against them?

They cant be conscripted as they are not UK citizens.

They might be allowed to return home, they might be allowed just to carry on or they might be interned. Depends if they are from an enemy nation an a possible threat.

Realistically, WW3 is unlikely but if it was to occur; I doubt being an international student would be different to any other foreigner in the UK. Although, this could be dependant on if the individual's age and occupation. Being a student would probably not be a reserved occupation.
Then it would be about the country the individual is from. If the individual's home country is on 'our side', their home country would be free to call them up to service. If the individual is from a Commonwealth country then they could easily sign up to the British army but conscription for them may be more complicated.
If the home country is against us - then it would get complicated. The individual could still get called up to service for their home country, they may feel pushed towards leaving the country or in extreme circumstances they may be rounded up and put in camps/prisons or possibly asked to leave (like Italians etc. in the UK in WW2). The UK would not conscript these individuals.
Unlike WW1&2, women would also be able to serve in front-line action a lot more, so conscription would be less likely or would be pushed back.

You don't know that there would be conscription. That's not a given by any means.
In this country, depending on our commitments, we might be able to make up the numbers through volunteers, rather than dilute the ranks with the unwilling.

I was basing my assumptions on the eventuality that armed forces of many countries would be wiped out due to the advancements in weaponry, in particular WMD.
You wouldn't be diluting your ranks if you don't have ranks to dilute. If you don't have soldiers, your country may choose to conscript rather than surrender.

If there's a nuclear war - no one will need any troops.
I also find it very unlikely that there would be a threat so existential that it would require general conscription in the UK. Basically, anything other than that threat would simply result in mass refusal. Let's say Islamic State became huge and tore right across Europe - do you really think you could persuade people to be conscripted into a British Army to fight them? I doubt it, it would be volunteers only and a large number of people would want non-intervention at all costs.
