If you don't mind me asking, what were your GCSE and A level predicted grades? And why do you think you didn't get an offer from Oxford?

Also, what are some of the advantages of LSE being in London and not a campus/collegiate uni? Do you get less of a sense of a 'uni experience'?

Just wanted to know what you read. Especially to show you interest to the uni in all 3 subject areas.

I studied maths, English lit, history and fine art at A level! The offer for PPE is A*AA with A* in maths, so to study it here you need to study maths at A level!

On my personal statement: I mainly talked about reading I've done! I didn't have many extra curriculars apart from getting involved at my school, so I did a lot of reading and critically engaged with it in my personal statement.

Hi, can you expand on what you mean by "critically engaged"?

I'm an offer holder for law, and was considering making some 'access' videos on YouTube if I get in this year. Just wanted to say your videos are really cool and well-edited. Is that actually your room at the LSE? If so, I'm surprised at how you've been able to personalise it.

Any tips for students starting next year? Anything you know now that you wish you knew when you started?

Is everyone at LSE really keen on going to the finance/banking sector, trying to get internship etc? Is LSE a good place for a career in research/academia?
Also, do you specialize in 2 subjects after the first year or you need to study all three?
Is there a big difference between PPE and subjects like Economics and Philosophy ?

LSE does have quite a lot of students attracted to the corporate sector - consultancy seems to be a popular destination for qualitative courses going into city work. I'd say this is perhaps more prominent here than at other unis... Many people od get internships if they wish to do this! But! That's not what you have to do. I want to go into the public sector, and I have no desire to go into the private sector at all. In addition, as a top-ranking university, its one of the best unis if you want a career in academics or research.

No, PPE at LSE is a lot more thorough than PPE at unis like Oxford - you continue all of them for the entire degree! This is something I quite like. And the difference between PPE and PP, PE etc is not that big: you will share some courses (classes and lectures) with people from other degrees. Look on the website and compare the courses to see where they overlap - that will give you a better answer than I can!

I'd only suggest doing PPE if you are interested in all three subjects: you're going to be doing all o fthem for four year! I wouldn't do it because of the prestige of the course. If you're only interested in two a joint honours would be a better choice.
