C and B are both parallel, so B and C have the same grad. Use the grad from the equation of the tangent u calculated in B and set the = to the derivative of the curve(a). You will then get a quadratic with 2 answers for x, the one you know and another x cordinate. Put this into the equation of curve to get y coordinate to get coordinates
how do you do this question

if i integrate the expression I get,

cx^3 - cx^2 + sqrt(c) + (2x^(3/2))/3 + c

and if i sub everything in, i get a different value of c???

Because you integrated cx\sqrt{cx} incorrectly.

Hi when i integrate the expression i get f(x)= cx^3 - cx^2 + 2sqrt(c)x^(3/2)/3 + c
when you sub in the coordinate (0,1) all the x terms cancel and youll be left with c=1

You shouldn't use c for the constant. There is no indication that the constant of integration is the same c as in the question.

When integrating it, put it into a form when it can be integrated. Put the x in terms of indices, so sqrt c x^1/2 or c^1/2x^1/2 and then integrate the x.

You're told l2 passes through B and l1 passes through B so you can find the point B which u can use as coordinate for l2

C1 Maths only has 8 chapters...yea do understand - bio and chem are harder...you mean you paid to do as an extra candidate at your school for the exam?


I've been entered in but there was no space to teach in our sixth form, I just got in for chemistry and biology...
Just finished the 14 "sections". 8.1,8.2,8.3 etc, thats how it was laid out :P
