Why is America bashing so popular among the Brits?

They can't really win Americans can they. They're either accused of not travelling/of being oblivious to the world or they are accused of interfering/of riding roughshod over other cultures.

What?? If you're not oblivious to the outside world, it DOESN'T MEAN you're "interfering" with other cultures, that is the most retarded black-and-white thinking I've seen in ages!

You do realise the average person in every country is that stupid? The average Brit and average American are about the same in intelligence.

Because Welsh and Scots don't cross over illegally and bring crime.

@l'etranger thoughts to op?

An average European is vastly more intelligent than the average American.

Now leave.
They're just like us, except they can't manage to provide themselves with decent healthcare and they keep shooting each other.

Some random questionnaires are irrelevant, both countries have the same IQ give or take a few.

That's even worse the more you think about it, Americans became the sole superpower despite being less intelligent according to you
i swr americans make fun of our **** teeth and basically everything about us? lel
I think people like poking fun of different cultures, French are rude, Germans humourless, Japanese are weird, Indians sound funny etc. As from why Americans get it particularly bad, probably because the culture is so prevalent and the US is quite extreme in some areas which makes them very easy to mock. In addition, many Brits(and Europeans), as far back as the 1700s, have and continue see American culture(culture?) as stupid, ridiculous and annoying. If you read some books about the US in 19th century. Relatively little has changed in terms of how Americans are perceived, which is quite interesting but I digress. I think a small bit as well, is that I think the intensity in which US culture has made its way into other cultures have made people overprotective. This probably explains the, in my opinion, overreaction to American ventricular entering British one.

Let's see... Their president is a reality TV star, in general they're incredibly hypocritical (they'd start stating how important the bill of rights is the second gun control is bought up, but I've yet to find an American who can list more than 5), they know squat all about the world outside their borders, they have one of the worst obesity rates in the world, despite being the worlds largest military power they've never in their history won a war without outside help... even their own civil war...

Add to that the fact that as a nation we take the piss out of everyone, we always back the underdog and Americans think way to much of their country.

As for the religion and family values etc: They're the nation that gave birth to the mormons, the westbro baptist church, scientology, faith healers who will essentially scam people for ridiculous amounts of money. They have shows such as 16 and pregnant, which started to become a problem when 16 year olds were trying to get pregnant just to get on TV, they idolise "stars" who have month long marriages just for a publicity stunt, they have one of the highest divorce rates in the world, with a ridiculous legal system to go with it, neighbourhoods are split in half by gangs, with the police hated by everyone just making things worse. So... Come again?

Sure, with that number of people some of them are bound to be brilliant and do great things, but as a country? I wouldn't have said they're anything worth shouting about (and yes, I could pick apart virtually any nation in a similar manner, but that's sort of the point, we're all as bad as each other and we take the piss out of everyone).

You still don't understand, nation becoming a superpower has nothing to do with the intelligence of the average population in generations after said nation became a superpower.

America becoming a superpower can be largely attributed to them winning ww2 and the cold war. You are rather clueless if you are seriously suggesting that the average fat American of the 21st century had anything to do with that.

ok i love how you keep calling america the """sole superpower""" despite its reliance on china which would also be considered a """superpower""" that rivals america and is also a factor in many of america's economic decisions but you can keep being annoying lol

Perfectly normal and natural unlike the marxist-socialism we have here. Once you start degrading family, race and nationality you are on a fast track to civilisational decay.

Except that don't really have those values here yet life in the UK is arguably far better than it is in the US.

Think about it like this, you make a business that generates tons of money and one day the workers rebel and take ownership of it, they sell it off to shareholders and appoint a new executive body now as a whole they prosper a lot, but they don't realise how badly they're being cheated by the executive board and shareholders they gave it away to... not to mention the companies terms of service (constitution) gives them the illusion they're the ones with the power and they're the ones making the business great when we all know that isn't true but hey let them live on with their 'dream'

Now as a former owner of the business, one can only laugh at how bad it has become and the backlash they've gotten for it.

And I forgot to mention, the UK is actually quite fond of the 13 colonies, aka the New England states. Especially NYC and Massachusetts because despite their rebellions against the UK they did what we thought we did best... taking other cultures and making them work better.

The Americans talk about cultural appropriation without realising they do it on a daily basis… they appropriate British culture but you don't see us complaining, it's just funny to see a country take the worst of a culture yet leave the best parts behind.

Because even when we are most divided amongst ourselves (e.g. Brexit, General elections) we can all unite by bashing America.

There are an awful lot of white lefties who will show solidarity towards 3rd nations just because they are poor.

...and this is why right wingers are so ****ing boring.

So?
The Welsh and Scots are racially different from Brits, yet we treat them the same, we don't tell them to,build a wall separating our countries because we respect them, whereas it's obvious that you don't

1 - British humour is based on insult anyone and anything.

2- Americans have such an over inflated sense of self importance, they're some of the most arrogant people on the planet, and a lot of them seem to think the world revolves around their country. Religion is also much more prevalent in the US than it is in the UK. Combine all of that and you end up with a lot of stupid people doing a lot of stupid things.

I'm not saying they completely deserve the bashing they get, nor am I saying all Americans are idiots, but stereotypes and insult based humour tend to have a degree of truth to them.

It does have a lot to do with the average person's intelligence, what a stupid thing to say. Britain also won ww2.
