The younger generation of British Muslim are even more extreme

For those interested in the details, the percentage of Muslims who want homosexuality to be illegal:
50% of Muslims 55+.
54% of Muslims 45-54.
55% of Muslims 35-44.
65% of Muslims 25-34.
71% of Muslims 16-24.

37% of 16 to 24-year-olds said they would prefer sharia law rather than British law, against 17% of those over 55.

A third(36% to be exact) of 16 to 24-year-olds believed that those converting to another religion should be executed, while less than a fifth of those over 55 believed the same.

From channel 4 poll and other reliable sources e.g. Bbc, telegraph and guardian .

No surprise.

Same thing as is happening in France and Belgium and Germany.

They feel disillusioned. Their parents or grandparents came here for a better life. They didn't, they were born here, and they do not feel accepted by society. So instead they bond over religion and hate and a belief in the motherland being so much better, the more they feel different from society the more they hold extreme views.
****ing 2017 and this constant belief of dark age cults known as religion.

I agree. There are a lot of Muslims who feel left out so look to this view for acceptance.

Not many people accept Muslims. Being young and receiving hate comments about your religion can leave an impression on a young Muslim. It will make them grow hate thus looking to the extreme so they feel accepted. This is why people need to be a bit careful with all the hate, some young Muslims might subconsciously form their own hate.
Kinda weird to, the younger generation are less religious than the older generation as well.
How about they just hold negative views regarding homosexuality due to their religion and background; instead of their view being a result of some victimhood?

First, that's absolute rubbish that "not many people accept Muslims".

Second, I don't see how this relates to the view regarding homosexuality. If they wish to be accepted, then they wouldn't aspire to hold such views, quite obviously.

How much data will it take for people to begin to realise that there is a serious problem with Islam in the UK, and its getting worse? When will people start to believe hard facts over conjecture and nebulous neologisms such as "Islam is a religion of peace".

I knew this was the case in France, Belgium etc., but I'm surprised it is the case in the UK too.

This survey was conducted 10 years ago, it is still probably similar today, but it might have changed since then.

Since it was conducted before the economic crisis, before the migrant crisis and recent spate of terror attacks, it is difficult to argue that 'islamophobia' had much to do with this.

It's also hard to argue that our foreign policy had much to do with it.

'Nearly a third(36% to be exact)' yeah don't think this works mate. Don't know where you were taught maths but 33.3% is a third. I hope you aren't doing stats A level.
Well obviously I wasn't invited for this survey...

This Book is not to be doubted.... As for the unbelievers, it is the same whether or not you forewarn them; they will not have faith. God has set a seal upon their hearts and ears; their sight is dimmed and grievous punishment awaits them.

Two of your sources are over 10 years old. I wonder what these statistics would look like today. Have Muslims become more liberal or more fanatical, i wonder.

Here we go again

"Oh how can u generalise a whole gazillion ppl with just like ten thousand sample size?? lol learn statistics u dummies"

i didn't say that:smile:
i agree that there are people who feel that way and honestly, i'm 15 idgaf about statistics. probably will at A-Level, but meh that's in September.
what i'm trying to imply is that 2017 and 2007 are different.
TIMES CHANGE PEOPLE.
there was a time when it was okay to have black slaves, but all the people with brains don't think that now.
Hmm seeing that this was carried out by a right-wing think tank, it was in their interest to poll the most extreme devout 1,000 young Muslims they could find. And polling 1,000 is hardly representative. The ridiculous results, particularly the apostasy one, makes this obvious

If the trend continues we would expect it to be worse, this does correlate with the actions/government policy of every Muslim majority country around the world.

The surpise would be if the opposite were true, I dont know why anything other than this was even on the table given there is zero evidence for Muslims becoming more tolerant of others.
If those figures are true, it's really sad to think that the majority of the muslims I work with and consider work friends probably think I should be in jail :/
I'm East Asian and my experience of Britain is that of a country that is arguably the most tolerant and accepting country in the entire world - sometimes to their detriment.

I find it shocking that apologists love to somehow always pin the blame on anything but Islam. I wonder how many more innocent lives will have to be lost until society comes to appreciate the problematic components of Islamic doctrine - how it breeds tribalism and is in many ways diametrically opposed to Western secular and liberal values.

Even if you try and argue that the think tanks want to bias the results (which I find a rather dubious assertion), you can also argue that there is a social expectation bias which would result in the negative results being underrepresented if anything.

Called it.

1000 is large as studies go, and is absolutely fine - just like you can taste a soup with just one spoonful.

okay, but from my life experience of knowing many young muslims in the uk, this seems like spoonful of soup that has the one veggie you don't like (lol yh you know what I mean)

That change didn't happen in the space of 10 years, don't be absurd.

Views don't "magically" drastically change.
