You're not going to get into medical school if you have no medicine-related work experience, full stop. In terms of grades, you're going to need AAA at A Level- you could always apply again during a gap year filled with medical work experience, or even do a first degree and apply for the graduate entry courses.

Hello there - The posts above have suggested sensible options. However I would also suggest that you consider "access medicine courses" or reach schemes as well. Application to medicine gets a bit complicated if you have to resit some of your A2 exams, as this rules out a number of medical schools. I suggest you thoroughly research individual medical schools; including access schemes and graduate schemes. Once you have sorted the academic side I would only then consider looking at the work experience.

Intending to do a biomedical science degree and then get into grduate entry or I'll just specialised in biomed.... problem is it's going to cost £64,000. Are these grades enough for biomed??

Unfortunately your chances of getting into undergrad medicine sound pretty slim because

1) all unis will autoreject you if you don't meet their entry requirements which are at least AAA

2) same applies to your C in English. I'm not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure that unis don't accept the IELTS as an alternative qualification for native speakers. t's designed to be a test for people who haven't studied in English to prove a decent knowledge of the language.

3) work experience is vital as well, and while you'd still technically have time to get some, you'd have less than most people you'd be competing against.

Those grades are fine for biomed for the vast majority of unis. :smile:

Not an expert on this but if your education has been in English then my guess would be no unfortunately. If you decide to apply for medicine you should contact the admissions people at unis to make sure.
