Do animals study lack external valdity ?for example ROger at al (2004) study a limitation would be ü can't generalise it to people as it lack external validity as chicken are differnt to humans ?

Typically, yes. Humans possess more complex emotions and cognitive processing than most animals, but Harlow's monkey study are said to be unethical because monkeys are similar enough to humans for the suffering to be unethical. But in general, animal studies lack generalisability.
