Is it possible to track IP address of an email?

If I send someone an email can they figure out the IP address it was sent from?
Yes by looking at the email header, very easy to do and you need no specialist software.. I do it all the time when I get legitimate looking emails I check the header for the IP then run a check on the IP and pin point the country/city it was sent from. Tbh most scammers sut behind masked IPs anyway. Why do you require this info?

In Gmail click the downward arrow next to the reply button and select Show original and then look for client-ip=

Most IPs aren't unique to a specific email sender though.

You can get the public IP address used to send the email. However pretty sure every client on the same network has the same public IP address so its not like you can pin point the person or even building all he can do is get the country/city of where it was sent from and even then someone could sit behind a VPN send an email and the header will reveal it came from China when really the sender is based in America.

Exactly.
No you can't as it will only give you the mail servers IP.
