In china on holiday: why is everything blocked???
So it's my first time back to china in 5 years, since then I have gotten to depend on social media... but does anyone from or in china know any good substitutes for things like YouTube, Facebook, instagram, snapchat...? Lol also movie sites.. porn everything is blocked😭😭😭

If you have a VPN you could use that, though to my knowledge it is illegal to use a VPN in China.
I think China has alternatives for popular websites, like Qzone as a social network, but that's the only one I know of.

I don't actually, no. But I am aware that China's internet laws are very very restrictive. I'm not actually sure how I know of Qzone, believe I've just seen it borught up in the past.
A VPN is a 'virtual private network' which you can use to 'hide' your location and make you seem as if you're accessing a website from somewhere where you're not. E.g. I regularly use one in Opera to watch films on sites that are blocked in the UK by changing my location to Canada. But I am 90% sure it isn't allowed in China :/

I got vpn when I was there. Just download it and it'll do all the work for you. The Chinese version of youtube is also okay.

Not sure which city you're in, but I used to live in Nanjing. I was on the outskirts of the city too, so the people in this area rarely see foreigners. I guess that would explain the bombardment of messages.
A lot of people there don't speak english, which is probably why they haven't replied.
The great peoples party like to keep the population safe from foreign propaganda in case a disaster happens and they begin getting strange things alien to the orient called "ideas".
Because China is smart and don't want their people concumed by social media.

China has 80m VPN users,although it is illegal.But it is impossible to arrest 80m people.
