Still, your lecturers can best advise you. And you may find there's a recommended reading list anyway.
Eg. https://www-esdmphil.eng.cam.ac.uk/about-the-programme/Recommended%20Readings/recommended-reading-list
(Although this is for a postgrad course.)
Also I wouldn't go buying lots of books, avail yourself of your university library instead
