Which of my choices is best for Drama/Theatre?

Hello everyone,

I'm currently in Year 13 at my sixth form college where I studied A-Levels in Drama, English Lang/Lit and Media. My AS results weren't totally favourable, but I'm putting my head down to achieve the results I want this year. I'm predicted A's in Drama & English, but would especially love to achieve that mark in drama as I plan to study it at university.

I've decided that I want to forgo the typical 'drama school' conservatoire experience in favour of studying at a typical higher educaton university as I feel the student life and mixing with people from more subject areas/walks of life appeals to me more. Therefore, I've shortlisted a selection of unis that I feel whose courses of study appeal to me. I was just wondering if anyone has graduated from these programs or has any knowledge on the universities themselves. They are as follows:

Liverpool John Moores
UCLan
UWE Bristol
Middlesex
Brunel London

Any advice would be much appreciated x

I have no opinions on the above, I'm afraid. However, I'm interested in your end goal. Is it to become a professional actor, for example?

Nice to hear that you are interested in studying at Middlesex University!
It is such a great place to be in the atmosphere is extremely welcoming :smile:
There are people from 140 different countries and it is really easy to make new friends. There is so much to get involved with, from sports, to societies, to jobs and volunteering opportunities on campus!
I did my bachelor here, I am still doing my masters and I genuinely love my time here :smile:
In terms of BA Theatre Arts, it is a very good and practical course!
The students get exposed to loads of the different aspects of working in the theatre industry (from Performance, to directing, to Technical Theatre to Solo Performance). Every year you will also get to set up a show :smile: By the third year you can choose in which pathway you want to go into.

I'm thrilled you've got an interest in coming to UCLan and I wholeheartedly believe that you could easily mix with other students from a wide variety of courses here and truly feel at home.

As you know we offer a wide range of performance degrees for you to choose from and sadly, I don't study any of them but we are having an open day on Sunday 8th September 2017 here, where there will be current students and lecturers to discuss your options with.
