Postgraduate funding opportunities

This thread is now going to be (gradually) closed. I wont be adding anything new, and I'll remove outdated posts.

I started this thread, and then maintained/updated it for over 5 years, as a response to the constant complaint about there being 'no funding' available for postgrad. Clearly, there is funding out there if you are more imaginative in your search, and there are also plenty of opportunities for going overseas for study and research.

I'm bowing out now as I have a new research project of my own - and that includes writing a full length book, and I need to give all of my time and energy to that, and not be distracted by other things.

I hope I have helped some of you over these years - I'd love to hear some of the success stories!
