Do people usually live off campus second year of uni in general? Do you agree that live on campus is quite important for making friends?

1. Most people move out of Uni accomm in 2nd year as unis tend to only ahve enough for freshers, but it varies, some have more accomm than others.

2. Normally you move out with friends.

3. Live on campus or in halls can be handy, but there are other ways to make friends such as societies.

Our students can choose to live out if they wish but very few decide to do so. We met a group of returning year abroad Modern Linguists who have inherited a nice rented house from students graduating last summer between Iffley and Cowley. In practice, it is tough to find a good quality house at a reasonable rent and the quality, relative cheapness, and convenience of college rooms tends to win out.

We are able to offer college rooms for all years of study (including 4th years) - as mentioned in similar forums, the Clinical Medics tend to live out as they need to be nearer the hospitals and rooms out there are a bit more affordable.
