GCSE English Literature instead of English Language

I got a grade 4 in my GCSE English Language and a grade 7 in English Literature. I desperately want to study medicine at uni, and as far as I know, many unis require a minimum grade B(6) in English Language. My question is: can I get into medicine course by using my English Literatute grade instead of my English Language?

I am also curious about this! I would like to attend a Russel Group University, specifically Oxford or Cambridge if I were to attend a university outside of London. I got a 9 in English Literature and a 5 in English Language... would it be possible? (I am still deciding between studying History or English at uni)

We can, but is there a need to retake English Language if it could be replaced by Literature?

unless the course says anything about english literature being required or over ruling language , i would recommend you retake it
