Theresa May is handed her P45

Tbh (and this is coming from someone who was actually in the hall) the guy struck me as the typical social detritus that is attracted to the corbynite cause, actual scum, I wish the police would've arrested his mates from the peoples' assembly for disruption of the peace regarding the trams as well. Get the great unwashed behind bars where they belong.

All things considered I thought it was a good speech from May, the disastrous aspects were out of her control but she handled them well, the humour regarding the P45 and the cough sweet would've dispelled a few calls of "Maybot" I imagine too.

I was also at conference and in the hall as it happened and it was utterly disgusting (Cough)

The speech itself was full of soft left nonsense and shows how the conservatives gave up (cough) on actually being conservative a long time ago

I would not have thought you to be in favour of nationalising corpses and proving dedication to the free market through price controls.

He's not a "protester", he's simply a disruptive ********. There's no point to what he did other than to slightly embarass the PM.

What he did is little better than just shouting down someone and preventing them from speaking. Everyone has a right to speak.

I agree. The op-ed from the Guardian claiming it was a terrible speech was based entirely on superficial considerations and things outside her control, rather than substance.

Unfortunately since the election there has been a disgusting mob mentality with people attacking the PM because they perceive her as week (because the Tories lost seats). These people are usually not very bright or well-informed because they aren't aware that in vote totals, May scored the best Tory result in 25 years and millions more votes than Cameron got in 2015

A trite and idiotic saying; the only people I ever hear saying it are people with a massively inflated sense of their own importance and who often have a peremptory and bullying manner about them.

Everyone should render other people some basic respect, particularly to those people who are the embodiment of our democracy such as PM, Opposition Leader, etc.

He wasn't a Corbynite, nor is there any evidence he's particularly left wing. He's a prankster who's done similar at Glastonbury and even at a Fifa meeting.

You may think his actions were unfunny or inappropriate, but he wasn't a 'Corbynite' as much as you like to portray anyone you dislike as one. The police had no grounds to arrest him or his mates, given they had been granted permission to go to the conference.

So we can't criticise May now? I'm sorry but any speech which a leader gives that is dominated by a severe coughing fit to the point they can't get their words out, is not going to go down well. It was excruciating to watch. Yes it's not her fault, but she needed a big speech and instead what will dominate is the coughing.

The substance of the speech wasn't great either. Nothing new or original. Nothing exciting.

I wont be respecting someone just due to their status no. That includes the PM. I don't respect a lot of what May is choosing do with her privileged and powerful role as an MP and now PM.

I seem to remember a total lack of basic respect for the leader of the opposition from a certain poster.
