does anyone know if the applying to vet school email is still checking statements?
I made some last minute changes to mine and I want someone to look over it before I send it off
I can't send it to the med/vet/dent person at my school bc she's made it very clear that she's fed up with how many times I've sent it to her

We are but we're facing a bit of a back log at the minute so don't be disheartened if it takes a while to get your draft back!
I just started a thread about this but what is this new questionnaire system! I'm really worried about it, not knowing what to expect from it!

If you mean the work experience questionnaire, it's not new and all vet schools I applied to three years ago (RVC, Surrey, Notts & Liverpool) had them. It just seems that a lot of schools aren't aware of them so people don't find out about them until their application has been sent off.
They're nothing to worry about though! They tend to just be a table form asking for name of placement, dates you were there, how long you were there and then a brief description of your duties or what you did there. IME they have used these more in interviews than the PS, but forgive me if I'm wrong or things have changed!

You then also get situational judgement tests for some vet schools, where you are given a scenario and then a bunch of actions that may be carried out. You then choose which is the most appropriate or ethical in that situation
Last year.Surrey acknowledged my application and sent me a link to their portal where I submitted my work expereience references.. This year, the information sounds a little different, am I supposed to be uploading it to UCAS?

Literally logged on to ask the same question. Surrey is very specific in regards to how they want their WE forms formatted, but I can't seem to find any details stating where to submit it.

edit: they do not send any emails if they do not accept the references so make sure to check the portal frequently

I've had two acknowledgment emails but neither said anything about work experience questionnaires or references. Do you have to go into the portal to get any more information?

I got an email saying they require additional information so I think they will send one to everyone at some point.
But if you go to this website https://magic.surrey.ac.uk/applicant/servlet/Query you can activate your account using the university number they sent in the acknowledgement email, and you can upload your references straight away.

Hi there, just posting on my son's account, this is probably too late for 2018 as the deadline is looming but may be good for 2019/gap year students, - there is a fantastic place in the south west of France which offers work experience with a wide range of animals large and small. The owner is an animal behaviour specialist and has a partnership with several vet schools in the UK for EMS. I'm not sure what the insurance rules are for accepting under 18s from outside France, my son studied in France and had trouble getting enough work experience because he was 17 and it's almost impossible to get insured for work experience unless it's through the school but it may be it just needs the school in the UK to endorse it. There's accommodation on site and everyone that goes there seems to love it. So for anyone struggling to get large animal experience for example, it a may be a possibility. Anyway here's a link: http://lamaisondeschameaux.fr/vet/

Hi there, is this in Gers? If so, I think I have also heard of this place being recommended for EMS when I was working in Auch this summer

Join the club! That happened to me this week and all I had done was quote the email address for PS checking!

My earlier message has been deleted because apparently it breaks the rules!!
Anyone know when all the questionnaire deadlines are?
When I was filling in the RVC work experience form, it went blank and then went back to the page to create the form! Did that happened to anyone else?

It happened to me too - if you leave it too long, it appears to refresh the page unfortunately.

That's so annoying 😂 I'd only filled in half of my work experience ☹️ thank you though, I'll try again tomorrow😊

Deadlines, to my knowledge, are as follows:
> RVC - 15th of October, 6pm
> Liverpool - 20th of October
> Surrey - deadline for references is 1st of November, questionnaire sent out after application
> Bristol - questionnaire sent out after application
> Nottingham - questionnaire sent out after application

Not sure about the others, worth trying their websites though

**Edit: had a look for you and I can't find anything for Glasgow, but deadline for Edinburgh's WES form is 22nd of October - Cambridge don't actually have a WEX requirement, they just state it to be "a useful insight" so no form for them but they do require you to take the Natural Sciences pre-interview written assessment on 2 November 2017 - more details on their website. Hope this helps  **

At least it didn't wait til you'd filled in the entire thing! 😂 Best of luck, I'm nearly finished so just going to carry on now and hope it doesn't refresh again 😬

Thank you so much. Been stressing about deadlines since I haven't heard much about them. Gotta submit my UCAS soon though

Yeah they ask you not to discuss any of the questions though - I guess this is just so ppl who fill it out first aren't at a disadvantage? It's not timed or anything, but does have to be completed in one sitting.
