Sexual abuse has always happen between school children in schools. I sure there was the same percentage of sexual violent in schools 60 years ago as there are now. The different is now days victims come forwards and report what happen to them and it taken more seriously. Sex texting is new and can be very dangerous as it could lead to children getting criminal record as a sex offended.

[QaqUOTE]I maybe wrong, but some kids seem to lack direction. Even when they are told off, they continue to do the same thing.

If a young girl decides to participate in such activity at 11, 12 or 13, then that's her and her parents' call, but i hope to educate my daughters not to do such things.

That means when a boy tries it and she has said no, then it is rape and the kid would wish he was never born.

"I hope to educate my daughters not to do such things" you think that really works, more often that not it's just going to increase their curiosity even more, if not in high school then the minute their at uni these are the kinds of girls you here about sucking off multiple dudes in a row, getting into orgies etc

It is based on education. When you educate a person properly, it is difficult for them to veer off.

For example, the drinking culture in the UK has loads of young people binging rather than drinking properly, but when you look at other countries like France and Germany, you see a more mature and responsible attitude towards alcohol through an educated introduction to drinking.

I am not saying that my daughters will be bullie or pressured into a particular mindset, but rather be taught about respecting themselves.

If you read the story, you will see that some girls rejected the advances from the boys, but the boys forced themselves on the girls. This should not be done and the boys should pay for their crimes

Countries like Germany and France has same the percentage of people who are alcoholic as Britain. The drinking ago in France is 16 and Germany 16 for beer so young people can drink in bars unlikely in Britain. Also in Spain the number people killed in drink drive accidents is three times as higher than in Britain.

French and German schools unfortunately in areas like the Paris suburbs or some areas in Germany have much higher levels of sexual abuse among school children.

I am talking about attitudes to alcohol and not sexual abuse.

You rightly pointed that France and Germany have an educated introduction to drinking which affects their attitude to drinking.

My original point was that if you educate young people about sexual relationships, their attitudes to sex changes. For example, it used to be taboo about talking about sex and pedophiles got away with molesting kids. Now, attitudes have changed and we get reports of inappropriate behaviours and a better clampdown.

The point is that if my daughter told a guy "no" and he forced himself on her, then we shall meet in heaven.

I few years ago I watch program about children who abuse other children sexuality. There was a childminder who twin daughters who were only 12 or 13 at the time sexuality abuse the toddlers in their mother care. The twins were caught and put on the sex offended register the mother was stopped for childminding.

Don't think that only boys commit sexual offences because girls unfortunately do as well.

but these days by the looks of things that boy would have ended up suspended and possibly in a police cell too. It's ridiculous, ..it's just kids fooling around......

I see, and boys will be boys, just locker room talk after all.

Are you blaming porn for sex offences?

There is more and more evidence supporting this, you can google it if you want.

There is certainly a link between male attitudes towards women, and towards sex, that is gravely impacted by porn consumption.

Hell no hell no hell no.

There might be some reforms that need to be made but taking advice from China on this regard who's citizens lack substantial liberty compared to the UK, I think we are alright.

So you are happy to promote boys' liberty over girls'? You are happy for sexual assault to occur, instead of a China-like attitude?

I know that abuse happens to both boys and girls. However, the rate of abuse is higher in girls than boys, in my opinion.

Its a problem that has a solution.. but its just a solution many would be uncomfortable with.

I live in China.. the problems of behavior out here, especially sexual are tiny compared to the UK.

I have run lectures and workshops on sexual related issues with university students, and the massive massive percentages of university students who are virgins when they attend university is shocking when you come from the UK.. but that's nothing compared to the huge numbers who have never even had a girlfriend/been in a relationship. Imagine all the whiney threads on here about virgins, but a country.

That said their rates of marriage and coupling up after 18 are very normal.. and except the in balance between the numbers of boys and girls, I cant see any long-term negatives to the lack of dating/sexual activities at a young age.

So how do they achieve this?

Simple: Curtail individual freedoms for the collective good.

For teenagers:

No porn. Its all blocked (nationwide) and is very hard to access anything remotely pornographic.
No dating in schools. Its against school policies, any sign of two students dating will result in punishment.
No phones. Bring your phone in, and youl be lucky to not have it destroyed in many schools
No freedom/free time. School is from 7-8am to 8-10pm for 16 year olds. Its their life, and outside time is very limmited and normally family based. most teenage girls in my town are very rarely allowed to go out for the whole day on their own.
Respect for teachers. Teachers are the gatekeepers of success, parents must respect their opinions, or their students futures could be negatively effected.
Unisex school uniform - its like baggy sports wear, nothing sexual at all about it.
Strict hair/make-up/jewelry code: E.g. no makeup at all. No jewelery at all. all boys must have short hair, all girls must have long hair tied back, or short hair.

etc. etc.

I fully expect any western individual (such as myself) to have problems with many of these.. but to be simple, in my experiance its a trade off:

You either take the bennifits of freedom for individual teenagers, whilst accepting this will lead to problems for some. Or you limit their freedoms, in an effort to limit the problems.

Its worth noting that having worked in both UK and Chinese schools, I wouldnt say either group of students is more or less happy.. its just a trade off between different problems. Uk students have far far more socially-related problems that cause unhappiness/mental health problems. Chiense students have far far more academic related problems that cause unhappiness/mental health problems

In China baby girls are sometime left in the road to die also in Chinese children homes are full of girls.

Its only dangerous because the law is so stupid. If a child send nude images of themselves then they are classed as making child pornography. This is ridiculous because the law is harming the very people it was designed to protect.Common sense should be applied here.

That's not true. Most boys have watched porn and you don't see the majority of boys becoming rapists or sexual offenders. Its nothing to do with porn. That's just what right wing media publications and certain feminists would have you believe.Porn has as much to do with sexual offences as violent video games have to do with mass shootings. In short very little.Otherwise mass shooting would be a hell of a lot more common.

I am not arguing that it does not happen, i am stating that the rate of abuse towards boys is less than that towards girls.

The essence is parents must protect their kids from these crimes.
it's the fact that no action is being taken against them when they do these things so the problem isn't taken seriously, and the offender doesn't receieve just punishment. and kids nowadays are much less disciplined. it's quite worrying to think about.
The definition of rape has changed from "A man/woman forcing copulation with another man/woman" to "A man looked at me for more than 3 seconds"

It’s a contributory factor

Pointing out that not all (or not even the majority) of people who consume porn commit sexual assaults is not evidence against the claim that pornography is a contributory factor in people committing sexual crimes

Whoah, whoah, whoah... I think it's important we get rid of that particular belief right now.

I was interviewed for a position with a school in Harbin, China which I decided not to take and the reason for this is:

During the interview, the headmaster said to me, "Okay, and just so you're aware... We have a policy against our teachers dating our students."

I paused and said, "Is it really something that has happened enough that it needs to come up in conversation? This is a middle school. The oldest girls you have are 14. I would assume that would be police involvement time. Because that's gross."

and I was told that it had happened enough that they had to create the policy itself and that it had been a problem several times in the past.

So, yeah... I didn't take that job because that was gross and I wouldn't want to work with people like that.

China has some wonderful attributes with incredible people, great history et al. But they do have issues.
Children are sexualised at a much younger age now.
Having access to pornography easily at such a young age contributes to how they view each other
We are not pieces of meat to be used.
Giving youngster self respect and good self esteem enables them to make better judgments regarding sexual activity
Teaching them to say no and limiting their opportunities for sexual activity does not turn them into nymphomaniacs at university as has been suggested. Instead it gives them the opportunity to make the best choices for them
Sex nowadays is such a throwaway activity that people are pressured in to things they don’t want to do and aren’t ready for because they think it’s normal
A pre teen with access to porn etc gives them a skewed view of a healthy sexual relationship and they lack the judgement when it comes to their peers
Grabbing/molesting the opposite sex is not appropriate.
It is probably more prevalent now than in previous generations but we shouldn’t mistake healthy childish exploration with abuse
I really don’t know the answer
