I am interested in Computer Science particularity in the field of AI and machine learning. In particular I am looking for universities in medium to large cities that are very theoretical and focus a lot on the maths in machine learning. Currently I have 5 AP tests (Computer Science Principals: 5, World History: 5, Physics 1: 4, US History: 4, English:3) and plan on taking BC calc and Chem later this year (hopefully getting 4 or 5s on each). With all this in mind what universities would you recommenced that I should research?

Edinburgh
Edinburgh is definitely my top choose right now. One thing that I have not really seen that I would like to are startups from graduates/student of the department: are you aware of any startup culture in Edinburgh?

Also do you know anything about Bristol's computer science department they don't seem to have focus on AI but their math and computer science course looks very good. Additionally are Nottingham and King's generally considered more practical or theoretical for computer science?

Thanks, Ned.

My daughter had offers from both Bristol and Edinburgh and chose Edinburgh because of its strong start up culture. Lots of info on the dept website and You Tube channel. The Scottish government also invests a lot in local startups
