I don't believe you can claim that you love someone and are loyal to them if you watch porn.

By watching porn you're allowing yourself to be sexually aroused by another (wo)man therefore you're cheating.

I also believe that thinking/talking about another person sexually or romantically is also cheating.

You can't think/talk about another person and say that you're loyal to your romantic partner.

I personally don't believe that watching porn when you're in a relationship is cheating. I've been in a committed relationship for 4 months now and I have still watched it a few times however I have to admit since having a boyfriend I have hardly watched any because of phone sex, actual sex etc, but I still don't see it as cheating. If my boyfriend turned around and told me he still watched it from time to time that'd be okay with me even though I have a feeling he doesn't anymore because of us being together and so has other ways to relieve himself.

I highly doubt he has lol

I'm not the OP but I have similar views to them. I've watched (animated) porn but I've NEVER masturbated to it ever. I've never seen the point to it. Sometimes my penis gets erect and at other times nothing happens.

OP reminds me of Elias from Clerks II.

You sound ridiculously insecure.

Yeah, because having a profile pic of an arm of google image search isn't insecure at all...

I'm a show-off, not insecure, get it right :u: Feel free to reverse image search my avatar if you like, I've not uploaded it anywhere else besides here so you won't get any matches.

Interesting. So, does this mean you're also not allowed to watch movies involving sex? Or, read any books with sex scenes in?

What about reading fan fiction with the purpose of masturbation? Is that cheating because you're thinking of a hypothetical scenario in your head, sexually?

No. Its not cheating. Your logic is rather flawed.

I think it is in a sense. It's worse than that. It is an addiction. See below, from yourbrainonporn.com

Porn Addiction & Sexual Conditioning

What are the symptoms of excessive porn use?) For example,

It's important to realize that addictions or sexual conditioning alter the structure and chemistry of the brain's complex reward circuitry. The reward circuitry is home to evolutionarily ancient centers responsible for influencing or controlling all bodily functions, perceptions, moods, emotions, drives, urges, learning, memory, and of course - libido and erections. Your autonomic nervous system and most major hormones are controlled through reward circuitry structures and chemicals. Additionally, nearly all emotional and mental disorders arise from imbalances in these same structures and neural pathways. It's no wonder so many differing symptoms can arise from a reward circuitry altered by porn addiction or sexual conditioning. Although very complex alterations in brain structure and functioning occur in all addictions, the following four categories comprise many of the major changes:

1.

A numbed pleasure response (desensitization of your reward circuitry)

2.

Formation of sensitized addiction pathways (sensitization - which is also behind sexual conditioning)

3.

Inhibition of executive control and decision making (hypofrontality)

4.

Malfunctional stress system - which manifests as even minor stress inducing cravings because stress neurochemicals activate powerful sensitized addiction pathways.

Was going to post a link to this website. You beat me to it.
What is your take on me and my imaginary wife watching porn together? Are we doomed to divorce?
porn is most definitely not cheating. being in a monogamous relationship sounds sacrificing enough as it is. why should someone have to give up their right to unharmful sexual pleasure when they've already shown they are committed to one person in the first place, through physically and emotionally being there for them (especially in contexts which are not sexual)

people don't watch porn because they dislike their partner. people watch porn because it's harmless fun, whilst also fulfilling their body's needs. the majority of people watch porn and the majority of people will get aroused by it, despite whether they are in a relationship or not. i would hate to be in a relationship where my significant other doesn't watch porn, honestly. i see no reason why a relationship should dictate a person's life like this. sexual needs are important and either way people will try to fulfill them. if it isn't through porn, it could be through worse things, such as physical, actual cheating.
How is it even possible to stop your body from reacting to other, let's say naked, men or women? You see a naked women in a movie, you get aroused and it's considered cheating? No.
People tend not to think sexually of the individuals in of themselves so much as the general idea and actual stuff that goes on in porn. Unless you're with somebody who's watched enough to actually know of and seek out specific pornstars.

Having a sexual reaction to a naked woman starring in a piece of media that is designed purely for sexual arousal in a process that the industry has pretty much perfected is unavoidable. I don't think you could avoid "allowing yourself" to be aroused in the circumstance.
It's weirdly controversial in 2017, but I agree.

Finding other people attractive is perfectly natural for many, but actually choosing to masturbate to their image is a whole other thing in my opinion. I don't see a distinction between doing that and doing other things people more commonly view as cheating, such as video-chatting another person and getting off...

EDIT: Should clarify, this goes for my own relationships only. I don't think anybody else has to abide by it.

I'm ridiculously insecure when it comes to my boyfriend and other women, but porn is nothing to me. I don't mind if he watches porn, especially if I can't be there all the time to relieve his needs 😂 Guys can get really sick and even hospitalised from keeping it all in you know.

I don't know about the OP but the first two are grey areas for me as they're not really based on sex itself. Also, you're not watching/reading it to get aroused. Sex stories are cheating though.
The last one however... IS cheating! Masturbating about anyone/thing other than your partner IS 100% cheating!

You should only need your partner.

Video chatting/sexting is cheating!

Your boyfriend should just wait to be with you and have sex or mastubate about you.
So you’re saying that besides cheating physically and emotionally (falling in love), you can cheat mentally (thinking of other women) as well? Would you consider a dream about another woman as cheating then? I see where you’re coming from but good luck in life and relationships if this is the way you see it.

You'd count reading a fan fiction whilst masturbating as cheating? Would you then also count your partner masturbating without the thought of you as cheating? I'm afraid the vast majority of people disagree with that. Cheating is physically doing someone with someone else. Not a thought process.

Thinking that a dream is cheating is over the top but mental cheating is real!
