The Student Room Group

One thing you hate about uni and one you love?

Hi guys 🤗
I'm new here so hoping this works as a little icebreaker.

What is one thing that you guys absolutely hate about uni (or uni life) and one thing you love? (You can input school/college/work if uni doesn't apply to you 😁)

I would have to say I'm not too fond of the early start lectures but really love the fact that everyone on my course (in my seminar group) is friendly or professional and do actually put the effort in during group projects/discussions or presentations.

😊 An extra smile for you because I'm in a good mood right now. XXX

Those 9am lectures are funny. I'm sleepwalking until at least 10 😂
How long are yours? mine tend to be around 2 and a half hours each

Ooh same, what are you specialising in if you don't mind me asking?
Also, a few societies I was interested in have training or meetings at like 8 or 9 in the evening 😂 nope. not for me.

Im doing Early Childhood Studies so im kinda specialising in working with young children. For the most part its interesting but sometimes the 4 hour lectures tend to drag :s-smilie:

Get in there !! Congrats. just started my first year so I'm a newbie to the adult world.
Good: Lots of alcohol.
Bad: waiting around for Lectures.
Hated: the stress.

Loved: nothing.
Loved: The scenic area and some of the modules
Hated: Very little to do outside a small pool of things
Hate: The awful bus services near the uni.

Love: Student discounts
Good: the doctors and wellbeing facilities are loads better than where i used to live
Bad: worrying about money all the time, feeling like you can never relax because something is always happening whether that is just work or the lights breaking or stuff going missing or letters from the council you have to fill in etc etc. Also being away from the only person that loves me
Hated - huge gaps in between lectures
Loved - everything else, uni life was amazing

I miss it :frown:
Hate: the constant business (if I'm relaxing I'm probably procrastinating)

Love: the uni experience itself

I know of a few Unis that only have one bus every 30 mins to them... 😕 I guess I'm lucky there's around 8 bus routes that stop outside or near my uni

Was your uni a campus style university or a city university?
