UK Participation Crisis

i have an essay due tomorrow and the title is 'there is no participation crisisin the uk.' I have made a few points about general election turnouts...any other ideas for points to make?

They will want something a bit deeper than just turnout.

You should look at underlying satisfaction and reasons for voting. Which groups?
You should also look at other ways people participate in democracy other than general elections. Single issue campaigns etc. Different ways i.e social media.
