Well I speak Urdu and Punjabi but they’re pretty similar.

Mayne an Indian friend of mine told me they're the same language (Urdu more influenced by Arabic and Farsi) but the reason they use different scripts and classified as different languages is due to political reasons (Pakistan being mainly Muslim, Indian mainly Hindu) - Kind of like Farsi and Dari (labelled 2 separate languages for political reason).

Idk how correct this is though lol but it makes sense to me mayne... I was around some pakistanis and indians once and they were all speaking the same language I was like wtf :lol:

thanks.x im half afghan from my dads side.but i never did manage to learn persian at all apart from the numbers and the alphabet.

Yes correct. Hindi on the other hand is more influenced by Sanskrit.
