And it depends really they are a lot of factors but jobs are very competitive nowadays. I only just rejected a job offer for £25k + international travel and that's with me only having a BEng.

Yeah, I guess that's the time you really need to decide what you want to study at university. What A-Levels did you do if you don't mind me asking and what university did you go to?

Damn, that's a good offer. Thought they usually made them kind of offers if you had a MEng. Your MSc sounds exciting! Have you decided where you are going to study that?

For your BEng Aeronautical Engineering your offer is AAB and for MEng it's A*AA. Why is MEng that much higher than BEng? Typically it's only a grade higher to get into MEng.

A few of our MEng have a bit of a jump (more than one grade) - I honestly don't know why.
However - it's worth noting that if you do well on the BEng at the end of Semester 1 in Year 2 if your results are 55% or above - you'll be invited to join the MEng course. So if you're worried about the A*AA - it is another way in to apply for the BEng and then work really hard when you're here.

Does that make sense?

It's between Newcastle and Aberdeen! Haven't decided which one I'll go to it's a hard decision because they are the best two universities in the UK that specialise in that area of engineering and have courses designed by industrial partners.

I only had 2 A-levels back in my time, Maths and Physics + an AS in Computing and Further Maths. So I had to do a engineering foundation year before embarking on an actual engineering degree. I chose not to stay for MEng since I wanted to specialise in marine subsea systems/offshore engineering. I did some modules in my third year that really sparked my interest in this kind of thing + my research internship in the states also added to the interest.

Nice. Straight to work after that? :smile:

I'm doing Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. I might drop Biology though because I don't really need it and I don't really like it.

Yes, I would like to go abroad if I can. I'll see though!

We're number 1 for salaried industrial placements with the world's top companies

It's possible to secure a job from your placement year - some students even sponsorship for the rest of their studies from the companies they've done their placement year with
