The agency has put something negative on my employment file

So I worked for a warehouse for two days and I was meant to start working at 6 on Monday (the line manager said not this lady).

I text her at 07.40 on Monday that I don't want to work there and said sorry.

She told me to phone her and I unfortunately forget about the text and phoned her now saying sorry and the job wasn't for me.

For some reason she then said to me I'm going to put this on your file for contacting me late.

I think even if I phoned her at the time she would've said the same thing anyway.

By the way, she lied saying the job was from 7-4.30, I asked a guy called 'rafa' and he said this is wrong you work from 6am-5pm and everyone comes in at 6.

So will this affect my employment after graduation? Will they check my file?

I've got a good work history and good references from uni, other places I've worked.

To get temporary work earning money on the side until I graduate.

As I said, I've got work experience in the field I want to go in and I've got good references from uni too.

Lol I've told you the reason.

So will this affect my future employment prospects?

Why do you need a middle man who is going to demand a cut and keep a file on you to apply for jobs?
Your "file" will just be with the agency you're using, and will only affect future employment through that agency - just don't put it on your CV. To me it sounds like an empty threat.
Walk away from the agency. Problem solved.

Presumably for the obvious reason that most companies seeking short term help will go to agencies to find such staff. They will not (and, practically, cannot) advertise the jobs themselves. Many companies seeking staff of any sort will do so via agencies as it can be cheaper (in terms of advertising, screening and interviewing costs, for instance) than doing it themselves.

If the jobs come via agencies then the would-be employees need to use those agencies.
I've walked away from the agency. The part time job was through the agency.

She did say I'm putting this on your file because "I've contacted her late".

So will future employers look at my 'employment file'? Or is this just the agency's file?

I heard somewhere that there is a file that all employers can see, what mis-conduct you've done etc.

This is nonsense. If the agency is ever asked for a reference you know what they will say though.
OP, grab your balls and phone them up saying you no longer require their services and request they delete their file on you. Then apply directly to employers like a normal person.

Either OP wants a specialised internship in which case don't use an agency because some HR girl isn't going to know about java programming or corporate law etc or OP wants a zero hour wage slave student job in which case you kinda don't need to use an agency anyway because they advertise these postings on Facebook, Craigslist, shop windows wherever.

Recruitment agencies are quite possibly the most redundant organisations in this country.

I can assure you that companies looking to fill technical roles make use of agencies too. I myself have recruited literally hundreds of such people via agencies. Who says HR is the only department involved from the company (or even involved at all)?

I understand you're an interested party in all this which means that negative consideration should be added to any opinion you express on the matter.

I am unreliable because I used to recruit people via agencies, rather than being more reliable because I understand what is going on from the inside? That is interesting logic.

I'm not defending the practice (though I cannot see much wrong with it, and it offers benefits on both sides), just telling you what happens.
What prophet said at #8.

Its fine to use an agency if thats where the opportunity is.

You can ask to see your file under data protection and have any errors corrected.
You can make a complaint.

They cna still overlook you and you will never know, but its just that agency. Find another?

I agree with you. My son is currently working his way up the ladder nicely, on his third job. The last two recruited by an agency
