The agency has put something negative on my employment file

So I worked for a warehouse for two days and I was meant to start working at 6 on Monday (the line manager said not this lady).

I text her at 07.40 on Monday that I don't want to work there and said sorry.

She told me to phone her and I unfortunately forget about the text and phoned her now saying sorry and the job wasn't for me.

For some reason she then said to me I'm going to put this on your file for contacting me late.

I think even if I phoned her at the time she would've said the same thing anyway.

By the way, she lied saying the job was from 7-4.30, I asked a guy called 'rafa' and he said this is wrong you work from 6am-5.30pm and everyone comes in at 6.

So will this affect my employment after graduation? Will they check my file?

I've got a good work history and good references from uni, other places I've worked.

Why are you using an agency?

To get temporary work earning money on the side until I graduate.

Why do you need a middle man who is going to demand a cut and keep a file on you to apply for jobs?

I heard somewhere that there is a file that all employers can see, what mis-conduct you've done etc.

Presumably for the obvious reason that most companies seeking short term help will go to agencies to find such staff. They will not (and, practically, cannot) advertise the jobs themselves. Many companies seeking staff of any sort will do so via agencies as it can be cheaper (in terms of advertising, screening and interviewing costs, for instance) than doing it themselves.

If the jobs come via agencies then the would-be employees need to use those agencies.

Either OP wants a specialised internship in which case don't use an agency because some HR girl isn't going to know about java programming or corporate law or whatever or OP wants a zero hour wage slave student job in which case you kinda don't need to use an agency anyway because they advertise these postings on Facebook, Craigslist, shop windows wherever.

Recruitment agencies are quite possibly the most redundant organisations in this country.

I can assure you that companies looking to fill technical roles make use of agencies too. I myself have recruited literally hundreds of such people via agencies. Who says HR is the only department involved from the company (or even involved at all)?
