Working Class / Left wing football clubs?

Interested to see which football fan bases are a combination of working class in status and left wing in political allegiance, particularly ones that don’t come to mind immediately, e.g Feyenoord.

A small list:

Everton & Liverpool - Labour safe seat in the UK

Feyenoord (Rotterdam) - a working class port city like Liverpool governed by the dutch Labour party

Livorno (Italy)

St Pauli (Germany)

Manchester Utd/City - Labour safe seat in the UK

In Italy Roma, Milan and Napoli are traditionally left leaning clubs, while clubs like Lazio are traditional right wing (as demonstrated with the fiasco surrounding Jews recently)

Its difficult to paint any club in England with the 'left-wing' brush as I would say every club in England will have elements of right-wing and left-wing supporters amongst their ranks.

I never understand why identifying with Irish culture makes you left wing, surely the two things would exist along a different spectrum and this is especially true given that Anglo culture is far more liberal than Irish culture which is generally quite conservative.

It's like saying Hamas is more left wing than Israel even though Tel Aviv pride is a thing but Gaza strip pride isn't.

True, there are some clubs where it is a bit easier to say they swing one way or the other though imo.

If you take immigration out of it then I reckon most football supporters in this country are probably left leaning.

It doesn't but Celtic's supporters are more left wing imo. They were one of the most vocal about the refugee crisis, and as that poster says they are anti establishment, they also have a friendship with St Pauli mentioned in the OP. There are guys who will know more who will be able to explain it better than me though.

The big three that come to my mind are:

Everton
Arsenal
Celtic

Everton, 'the people's club'. Not only in a Labour area but also is known for valuing community in a way that some would describe as left-wing.

Arsenal known for having Labour-supporting fans. More the trendier London type of lefties (like Corbyn, who supports them), than the grittier Northern ones. A lot of left-wing opposition from fans over the pay of its workers lately.

Celtic. Associated with Catholicism/possibly Irish nationalism, which is generally espoused by leftists.

People around the world think of Liverpool firstly as the Merseyside team who are left-wing but fully agree that Everton are the more community based team, and have a stronger support with the city of Liverpool, as oppose to Liverpools larger nationwide following, therefore making Everton more of the working class / left wing team on Merseyside

Probably AFC Wimbledon.

Real Man U supporters probably (those in Manchester or brought up there, not the plastic glory seekers who probably have no political opinions).

Yeah Celtic are very left wing while a lot of Rangers fans are unionist/right wing.

Probably the only club in the world where a large portion of it's supporters hate their own national team/country as well.
