Graph reflections?

say you wanted to reflect the function f(x) in the y axis, would you do -f(x). say you wanted reflection of this in the x axis, would you do f(-x)? and also, if you wanted the equation of the graph, would you just plug in -xto wherever x is for the refelction in the x axis and times the whole thing by -1 for a reflection in the y axis? thanks.

Every time you say x-axis, or y-axis, swap them around then the whole post will be correct.

to reflect in the y-axis you do f(-x) and to reflect in the x-axis you do -f(x)

what do you mean? so a reflection in the y axis is f(-x) and in the x axis it's -f(x)???
