For the second document (in your first post), check the fourth line and last line.

I wasn't quite sure how to cross multiply the T, should it be on the left of the square root?

Sort of yes, multiply both sides by "t", as an example:

Unparseable latex formula:

\displaystyle \sqrt{ \frac{a}{b} }= c + \frac{d}{t} \quad \Leftrightarrow \quad t \sqrt{ \frac{a}{b} } = ct + d, \mbox{where} \, \, t \neq 0.

Ah okay, if there wasn't a sqrt then would it be
Thanks

The first one:

tab=atb. \displaystyle t \frac{a}{b} = \frac{at}{b}.

As an example:

2(12)=22=1. 2 \left( \frac{1}{2} \right) = \frac{2}{2} = 1.
