Should I revise like my life depends on it?

I'm currently having a dilemma about my a-levels. I'm in the first year and after watching several videos about how to get high grades and stuff, most of what they said was similar to revising at gcse.

Even though I am in the first year should I start revising as if my exams were next month or something?

No. You'll burn out too quickly.

Do you think I should set the groundwork then, like condensed notes and revise topics after a few months the? So it's less strenuous.

Notes sound like a good idea. It helps you to go through things but not in an intense/taxing way.
