@pandasandpens, how much time did you get between receiving the invite and the actual interview. Thanks.

They usually let you choose any time up to March but I wanted to get mine over with so I think I left about a bit over a month but it was also Christmas in-between

International too with very similar stats! It really just depends on your personal statement and BMAT score, they don't look at igcse or GCSE. Good luck

How did you find the BMAT?

I have no confidence in how it went, usually when I did past papers I pretty much knew around which score I'd be getting in that test. Can't say the same about this year  Hopefully the boundaries are in our favour. You?
sooo stressed for next friday - it needs to hurry up! :afraid:
Hey everyone, I'm a 4th year at ICSM currently doing my intercalated year. I've also been on the interview panel in the past. Whilst I obviously can't tell you the questions, I can give you some general advice for when interviews come around. Just @ me and I'll help if I can
Hey, I'm an international student who got deferred entry for 2018 in Imperial after applying in 2016. Initially I was basically all set to join but with some recent information, I've been reconsidering (though it depends on whether or not I get into medical school here in my home country next year given that a) it would be a lot longer to get my full registration in the UK compared to here, and b) I'm uncertain as to whether I'd continue to work in the UK or want to return to my home country - but if I did either of them, it is much harder to specialise later on as an international student (which I will be considered either way!).

So there's a lot going against the decision to move, and not the price and distance from home, so can anyone who's at Imperial at the moment provide some alternative arguments for moving, because it's incredibly hard to find some!

Hiya, so I was reading last years entry thread and read something about 'bands', can anyone explain?

Hiya, so I was reading last years entry thread and read something about 'bands', can anyone explain?

Hello, based on how Imperial sent interviews last year, I think some people did mention that it looks like they didn't use bands for last year's entry but all bscly all it does it place applicants into bands based on the bmat score (band 1 - band 4); each band has a cut-off for each score, including the letter you get for S3. So let's say the cut-off for band 1 is 5.5 5.6 3.5A (which obvs isnt), if an applicant gets 5.5 5.5 3.5A (doesn't meet the s2 cut-off), they will go to band 2. Most applicants in Band 1 would get interview and when there's still places left, they'd call applicants from band 2 for interview...etc.

All in all, i'm not sure if they will be using banding this year- pls feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
