Do you know the truth about sending nudes?

Poll

What do you know about sending nudes

A Manchester mum won a legal review to dispute the police keeping a record of her son's naked photo details.

Fourteen-years-old at the time, the boy wasn't actually arrested or convicted, but the police are keeping a report on their database under the section 'obscene publications'. His mum is worried this will hang over him for the rest of his life.

So how much do you know about the laws around sending nudes?

I thought the legal age for any form of sexting was 18. Is the poll meant to say 16?

So you think it is OK to harass people by sending pictures of them naked, or by passing on such pictures you have been sent? You think it is OK to publish a picture of a naked minor? The corollary is that child porn should be legal.

You seem happy for the law of the jungle to apply.

Lol that is one long walk for a short drink of water :L
The poll options are essentially useless. Firstly, the age is 18, not 16 - this is pornographic material we're talking about, here. Secondly, whether it's illegal or not isn't 100% cut and dried. It's not inherently illegal by any stretch, though you can report someone sending you any pornographic material for sexual harassment or if you're sending private pictures of someone else there may also be legal implications involved.

LOL @ 4 people that voted for the first option on the poll

Indeed, do you have an issue with that?

I guess you are an anarchist and don't care about the weak being trampled by the strong, children being exploited and abused by adults. It is a pity such people can't be permanently deported to a state that caters for them.

Oh bless you little one :') You're funny.
I don't get the logic of the people who voted "It's not illegal, it's my choice". Murdering somebody is your choice too, but that doesn't stop murder being illegal. :s-smilie:

lol, none of your poll's options are correct

Yeah. I didn't vote for any for that reason, too.

Presumably it's illegal if either party is underage - not just if both are. :dontknow:

"It is illegal to either send or receive nudes of someone who is under 18."
