That's even worse. It doesn't affect them so why the **** are they complaining?

Pretty much either right-wingers saying Tesco are pandering to Policital Correctness by including all cultures and Muslims shouldn't be involved in our traditions, or SJWs getting offended on the behalf of Muslims. We're becoming a nation of people that just seem to love taking offense

Ah here comes the talk about morals

Someones got to say it!
All the commercial adverts are for marketing .Here, I believe Tesco is supporting diversity as other brands but in a more explicit way. There is no problem in featuring people faith even though they do not celebrate Christmas.I am muslim and i thought Christmas was about unity?

Jesus wasn't born on christmas

Did I say he was?

I think Santa has a larger part to play in Christmas than Jesus does lol. Not much religion left in the festival.

Yeah there is, 2.4 billion Christians across the world still celebrate it as part of their Christian faith.
An ad which (painfully) tries to show how integrated everyone is, and how we can all come together to celebrate one unifying religious festival, ends up showing how badly we all get along and how nothing whatsover unites us. In fact we are divided on religious grounds.

What were the chances of that?

Yeah I get you, I'm glad if you try and be a better person and make some changes to your personality, however, with all due respect, Christmas was never an inherently Christian festival, and has become even more secular these days.

Just like hajj and circumambulating the kaaba was never an inherently Islamic festival, you mean? Or performing ablutions before 5 daily prayers was never inherently Islamic. Or fasting at Ramadan.
I feel you fam.

All of the actions mentioned have been explicitly prescribed in Islam, Christmas is nowhere to be found in the Bible or the teachings of Jesus. Famalam.

Yes, as someone said below, Jesus is never found celebrating his own birth in the Bible. Some of the things you have mentioned may be in other religions too, since if all religions are from the same God, then there will obviously be some overlap.

The point is not about being worked up for an advert. The point is that using Muslims in an advert where they do not celeberate such festivals is morally incorrect. Why not just keep it simple and use other individuals who are willing to take part in the advert?

Yes I know behind the scenes they must of questioned the ladies on if they wanted to participate and they must have replied in the affirmative which does not make it correct in any regards.

And...? Christmas is actually a Pagan festival which the Christians appropriated. Nowadays, Christmas is so commercialised anyway that everyone celebrates it, including atheists like myself. Do you actually know anyone Pagan who celebrates Christmas, because I don't? So what if it's morally incorrect to show Muslims celebrate Christmas? While I can see where the OP is coming from, it's stupid to complain about a 3 second advert where the Muslims appear for a nanosecond. If you don't agree with Muslims being shown, you're free to have a view but complaining about a Christmas advert is stupid in my opinion. I'm willing to bet the other people in that adverts were atheists but nobody complains about them celebrating a Pagan festival.

And they all pre-existed Islam in Zoroasterianism and paganism.

Christmas is nowhere to be found in the Bible or the teachings of Jesus.
Erm, yes it is. Google "Nativity". "Christmas" is merely the celebration of this event, just as Eid is the celebration of Abraham not murdering his child. It is not mentioned in the Quran as a festival that is to be repeated every year.

BTW, Christmas involves a reworking of earlier mythology, just as Islam does with some of its festivals.

As you are a regular poster in support of Islam, could you tell me what parts of the religious elements of Islam are unique to Islam and did not feature in some way in earlier religions? (Note: I am not talking about the socio-political elements but only those relating to the divine).

So paganism and Zoroastrianism are authentic religions revealed by Allah? Cool.
What next? Atheists celebrating Christmas? I perish the thought of such blasphemy! 😡

The story of Christ’s nativity is extensively described in the New Testament.

Read: Luke 2: 1-20. Matthew 2:1-12.

Do you think the whole festival was dreamt up by Tesco’s or something??

Muhammed (PBUH) is recorded celebrating Eid. Idk about Paganism, but I think Zoroastrianism was originally a true religion, and I think Zoroaster (AS) was a true prophet.

I didn't say that he hadn't, only that like Christmas in the Bible, it wasn't mentioned in the Quran as a required festival.

If that is so, why was Zoroastrianism viciously suppressed by Islam and why is Zarathustra nor mentioned in the Quran?

Seriously, it is somewhat glib to just claim that any early religion that were used in the creation of Islam was actually Islam by another name and different practices!

And Arabian polytheism (which contributed several key elements of Islam) cannot in any way to be claimed to be" Islam by another name".

The Holy Quran says messengers were sent to every people, so there were thousands of them, it would not be practical to list them all in the Quran.

But Zoroastrianism was the dominant religion in the Persian region for 1000 years until the advent of Islam. Seems a bit of an mistake not to mention it or its prophet, considering that performing ablutions before 5 daily prayers was borrowed from it.

Also, why do you think that only the messengers sent to the Middle East managed to get the message anywhere near what Allah intended?

It's caused some controversy as people know Muslims don't celebrate christmas so why feature Muslims? It's like featuring Christians celebrating Eid... So stupid.

Why shouldn't they? Jesus is a major prophet in Islam.
