private renting is generally cheaper but you never know what kind of landlord you ll get.

I agree that private renting is usually cheaper and has more choice, but tbh halls are much more organised imo, and you have more support in terms of maintenance and security related issues

out of four places, we had two bad landlords who wouldnt do repairs but the other two were reasonably good, it s less risky if you go through an estate agent then you can physically go down to their offices if something doesnt get done.
