Ive just seen episode 3. Imo you did very well, am sure its beneficial and you all cam across as likeable.

How long does it take to film the series? 2-4-7 days? Do you stay all the time?
Everyone who takes part looks as though they have a goo time.

1. Its impressive what you have made although its difficult to see how you will knock any other robots out. I cna only see you might be able to push someone into the cpz if they ever stay still.

2. I agree with the relative costs of things and imbalance if someone spends tens of thousands on it.

3. It was nice of Vulture to lend you the wedge, but i can see why they ha to ask for it back, although karma got them.

You did well.
Ok my feedback on the episode. Ive even had to look up the names as i instantly forget them.
Better episode than last week.

In all honesty, I'd probably pick it as a specialist subject over anime. Less broad. :p:

I'm no engineer, but I'd imagine the main downside of having a full-body spinner which is up to the same level as today's more conventional spinner weapons would be the damage it would sustain itself after every impact. Series 8 and 9 had M.R. Speed Squared, the only full-body spinner to take part in the reboot - always started strongly in the initial 4 way qualifier, but wasn't even remotely good in the round robin fights.

Any comments on Heat 2, before we see your robot this evening?

Get that application in!

Well, full marks for that prediction

Don't know what you mean...:ninja:
Usual pre-episode thoughts (winner prediction in bold, personal favourite in italics):

4 Heat contestant spoilers!

And my thoughts having watched Heat 4:

Even bigger spoilers

Not doing the spoiler boxes if its 1 day after its been shown.

I always forget the names. My view on Ep4 and in general was one of the best / most interesting episodes so far.

Strange to think if iron awe really was the first flipper, its still just about the deadliest design if the flipper works. You think with 17 years they might have managed it.

The Tauron guy in the first round claimed he just stopped because it was over rather than being disabied.

I would say cluster bots dont work, but the kegs weapon was ok and not bad for recycled bits plus uts hardly going to compete with the £25,000 bot.

For the rest of the fights.
Andron 4000 was controlled really skillfully in the second fight v Tauron.
Nuts was awesome and rather than being a joke it actually did 2 real killing blows, the best ever being where he eviscerated Andron. Mayeb the best kill ive seen.
Oh how Concussion guy must be kicking himself fr not testing his additional armour.....

Maybe the cluster bots can carry mass entanglement payloads and ram the spinners?

Fun episode. best bot won.

That hydraulic fluid takedown was stunning!

I was so impressed with Nuts, I was fully expecting it to be trashed, but that first hit on Concussion proved me very wrong. I bet Concussion has more armour around the wheels if they are in the next series.
Very much enjoyed watching the kegs get destroyed
Tauron vs Andron 4000 was really interesting, manoeuvrability and being able to pinch (not the best crusher, but far from the worst we have seen) vs a decent spinner, but a robot that needs a far better turning circle.
Iron Awe was a little disappointing, had the flipper worked it would have been far more impressive, but it did seem to take a beating from Concussion for a little while.

Odds on the arena being smashed a bit more in the next episode?
I keep forgetting to post - there's no Robot Wars this Sunday, because of tennis. :moon:

:frown: Gutted! At least I don't have to choose between this and Blue Planet 2...
Apologies for the delay, workload has been catching up with us this week  :sorry:

Looking forward to the final and the 10 way! Predict some carnage from that!
Oops, I forgot to post my after-episode thoughts on Heat 5. :ahee:

It's been nearly a week, but I'll tag it anyway

And as for tonight's episode... I'm not even going to try and predict the winner of the 10-way, it depends entirely on who gets flipped out, smashed to pieces or ganged up on in those first 30 seconds. :p: The robot I'd LIKE to see win it is Eruption, with Terrorhurtz and Big Nipper a close second and third.

Predicting an overall champion is also tricky, but I have to give that a go for the sake of tradition...

The ten-way is no time limit, keep going until there's only one left standing, yes?

Apparently so! Though from my understanding, most robots have less than 10 minutes worth of battery power (due to matches usually being far shorter than this, and to maximize power while minimizing weight). So I'm hoping it'll be done before they start going flat, as that would be a real anticlimax. :p:
