musical theatre. what uni?

I have friends at GSA who love it! Drama school wise I'd also recommend Guildhall, LAMDA, Trinity Laban and Rose Bruford. Not to be harsh, but musical theatre is such a competitive course, to stand a chance of getting a good job you do need to be going to a top school as there are so many graduates and very few jobs.

My biggest recommendation is take a look at the actor biographies in West End theatre programmes and see which schools are getting graduate jobs. At the moment the ones which are rising are Bird College, Arts Ed and Urdang. I know people at all three who are doing really well.

I have two friends currently studying at Chichester University doing Musical Theatre. They're definitely enjoying it, but I'm not sure about its employability.

Basically, you really want to be aiming for those London drama schools, there is tons of finance available if you're worried about that. Audition for as many as you can, and you might want to consider sending your application ASAP. My friend's first drama school audition is tomorrow (RADA) and he has another one this Saturday too so auditions are already in swing.

I know you said you're interested in MT but just in case you consider straight Acting... do not go to Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Management removed two students from the school in 2016 and another in 2013 for admitting they have depression, under the ruse "they were not doing well" when, if you ask any of their tutors and people who actually saw them on a regular basis, they were doing amazingly.

Musical theatre basically is the theatrical or dramatic performance of dance. Now a days most of the musical theatre schools offer online courses. I found Bodens Performing Arts which is situated in uk, Barnet provides the best Musical Theatre Training with spoken dialogue, acting, and songs. This is why most performing artists decide to join here.

I'm not very knowledgeable in MA courses although I do know that great institutions for MA Musical Theatre that are not on the list are Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and The Royal Academy of Music.
