What are your current working at grades in your subjects?

English Lit: 6
English Lang: 8
Maths: 6
Biology: 6
Physics: 6
Chemistry: 6
RE: 7
Psychology: A*
History: 7/8
Computer Science: 6

I'm not very happy about those 6's. Aiming to push those up to 7's at least by the time I take the GCSE exams.

You?
I've already sat 2 GCSEs last year.

Current grades (mock results):
English Lit = 7
Eng Lang = 7
Biology = 9
Chemistry = 9
Physics = 9
Psychology = A*
French = 8
Computing = 8

Maths = A*
FM = A*

A bit upset about English since I'm predicted a 9 but I'm happy with it for the time being.
Your results are amazing, how do u do it , do u go to a grammar or something

Congratulations on the mock results! Hopefully, you can do the same or even better in May!
My mocks didn't really go to plan for me even though I spent a lot of time revising. But at least I know which areas to improve in!
Good luck! xxx

Dear Year 11s,
Please follow this advice from a student who got a clean sweep of 9s and A*s in his GCSEs.
You can't be predicted a 9, given that it is taken from a national average and a distribution curve; calculated from exam statistics.
2000 students last year (0.3%) recieved 3 9s, so don't overestimate working grades, because it is immensely unlikely that you'll recieve more than 4-5 9s.
I got a 7- in my English mock and recieved a 9 in my GCSEs- What does this mean, English teachers are terrible markers or English teachers want you to learn, are reluctant to give you higher target grades,in order to encourage motivation and produce a perfect exam style answer. Furthermore, English is a debatle subject and is subject to subjective ideas and personal opinions.
Aim high but remember deduct a grade from your current english grade.
Don't be dissapointed if you don't get all 9s
Good luck and dont feel that this is a pesimistic post, just here to bring out the reality and ridicule of current year 11 students being awarded too high of grades because a 9 cannot be predicted (you're teacher can't mark if they give you one)
