Is meiosis part of the cell cycle?

Only mitosis. The cell cycle is the full process of the cell splitting into two identical daughter cells - G1 S1 and G2 (interphase) and then the rest of mitosis (PMAT).

Thank you! I thought so. The official a level textbook counts "nuclear division" including meiosis and mitosis as the part of the cell cycle which was a bit confusing as I've only ever heard it as mitosis before.

Just to elaborate on that point because I don't want to cause further confusion. Meiosis as a whole is not the cell cycle however the stages of Meiosis 1 and Meiosis 2 each involve the cell cycle which is the splitting into two cells. So in a sense the cell cycle happens twice. Mitosis itself is the cell cycle basically. If a question were to ask you to describe and explain the cell cycle it's asking about Mitosis unless it tells you it's about Meiosis.
