They have hate crime laws which racks up the seriousness of the crime like here in the uK so he should certainly do time.

And we don't come down hard on people in this country who attack people with a religious motive? :rolleyes:

Everywhere I visited in Canada almost three years ago, (Toronto, the Quebec region etc), I don't recall seeing a single hijab being worn by anybody. :confused:
He should be put in prison for 5 years during which time he is forced to carry out hard labour on very little rest and food.

The charge should be violation of property rights.

I think a harsh sentence would be reasonable just on the fact that he used scissors in an attempt to intimidate an 11 year old girl.
