On the days before he came they were handing out leaflets calling for him to be banned and for there to be a protest against him. The leaflet in question was also peddling lies about him.

this is appalling but unsurprising. it would be great if you could upload the file to imgur or postimage.org

This is the exact wording of the leaflet.

Potentially the next Tory leader, Jacob Rees-Mogg is coming to Queen Mary on February 1st. Rees-Mogg's political track record shows he always takes the most conservative line, irrespective at who's cost that is. To name some examples: - He's against abortion, even in the case of rape - He has been a staunch opponent to gay marriage - He's against the rights of EU nationals to stay - Voted against laws to promote equality and human rights - Is a war monger who voted against investigations into the Iraq war This is our campus, and we won't have politicians who are against the welfare and freedom of our diverse student and staff body. Thats why we're calling a protest on Library Sqaure at 6pm on Thursday 1st February to say that Jacob Rees-Mogg is not welcome at Queen Mary as a pro-LGBT, pro-choice and anti-racist campus

It should be noted this failed, the leaflet was placed all across Mile End road, and its presence just advertised the event more.

Which is an absurd comparison, given that the instructions for that incident came from the top.

The instructions for this incident on the other hand, seem incredibly unlikely to have come from the Labour Party or Corbyn, unless you have evidence to prove they did.

I'll repeat my initial question though, what does this incident have to do with Corbyn?

the thugs would have felt that the tide of history was on their side & that effete concepts such as democracy and fair play can be disregarded; this is how it will be if we cave in to Mr Corbyn and his boot boys.

Impressive - QM is usually a rather left leaning place. I'm surprised they let this medieval quasi-fascist in...
Was it at the Institute there or?

No worries. They were handing them out in the university cafe on Tuesday, I told them to leave me alone (I decided not to mention I was listening to the Moggcast at the time)

Also until I saw their leaflet I did not know about the event. It was so popular that the room it was in was packed and they had an overflow room, the event sold out within 2 hours of being posted.

So they were exercising their right to free speech and protest? Not banning him. You think protesting should be banned?

Peddling lies? Unbelievable. Do politicians peddle lies?

lol.... the KGB is part of the Bolshevik nightmare which certain politicians are keen to inflict on us :h:

So we live in a Bolshevik nightmare?

You say suspicions are sufficient to prove guilt, opposing the rule of law to which you pretend to support.

At no point did I say that they had no right to protest. Read the leaflet that I copied into this thread “we won’t have politicians who are against.....” and “Jacob Rees Mogg is not welcome”

On the lies bit we are not talking about politicians lying here. The leaflet said that Jacob is a war monger and he was a racist. Both of which are not true.

He has wined and dined racists and his ERG thing is implicitly xenophobic.
He himself is a raging homophobe though.

Yep Napp it was the institute, others that have been interviewed include, Sam Gyimah, John Bercow, Diane Abbott and Neil Kinnock. None of which the socialists had a problem with.

What a non-story

So if i came to Corbyn speech and started pushing him around and trying to start fights with his supporters then its ok is it ?

I would argue that having dinner with a racist does not make yourself racist.

I agree with you that it was wrong to him to meet these people.

In this thread Leftists are apparently Nazis, communists under the cult of Corbyn. They've listed that JRM and people with his views are unwelcome at university - that's not a threat, that's a public statement by the students that he's not welcome.

JRM is supports trident, arguably making him a warmongerer. You dont think they should be allowed to criticise politicians?

See, that's not what happened. Is it?
