C programming

Which is the best book to refer for C programming if you are a B-Tech first year student from mumbai university?
Does your instructor/tutor have a book which is specifically for your course?

If not, there's a comprehensive list of C books on StackOverflow here (it's kept up-to-date by experts in the C community so you can treat it as a canonical list):

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/562303/the-definitive-c-book-guide-and-list

The answer in that SO thread pretty much lists every worthwhile book on the C language, so there's not really anything else to add to that. The "bible" for C programming is the book at the top of that list - often known as "K&R" (The authors - Kernighan and Ritchie) - 'The C Programming Language'.

The other place which you really should visit would be the "official" C FAQ here: http://c-faq.com

Hey, fellow Indian! Strongly suggest you read from: KN.King! Excellent book - make sure you make notes or you'll forget and might have to re-read
