Productive year 11 summer for a future Cambridge Student

Anyone going to Cambridge or planning on going to Cambridge - please tell me about your summers? What have you spent them doing?

Also I'll list my summer activities here:
1. Heathrow Work Experience
2. Inspire Materials Science at Cambridge (residential 4 days)
3. Imperial Mathematics Summer School
4. Scholarship (I'm one of 3 out of thousands of applicants) - 2 weeks at Cambridge studying Engineering
5. UCL summer school (residential 4 days)
6. Tutoring from August 26th to September 1st (4 students at AJ tuition centre, Romford Road)
7. potential Harvard School Scholarship for Mechanical Engineering

Is this enough or should I do less?
Also what out of these should I write about in my potential personal statement, because if I can't write about it - I'll drop it.

This is more than enough - in fact, it's amazing!

What school do you currently go to - it seems pretty damn excellent?

It may be excellent but if you are wanting to go to Cambridge you need to do better..

I'm not doing any of what OP is doing but I think I have a chance at Cambridge. It depends - this is going to add into OP's personal statement by a great deal and the scholarship is evidence of great ability (as it's selective).

Thanks for the links - I'll apply to the Maths (broadening horizons) tomorrow after discussing with my parents. But on a separate note - does your sixth form still accept intakes? You've said you had an IMO student so clearly it's very mathematical (quite an ideal school for me).

choose 15th- 28th july and cambridge!!! (clare college you'll be at)
also when i was talking about the IMO student he goes to Westminster School
Bloody Hell! You're certainly determined, aren't you! I spent my summer after year eleven doing pretty much nothing for a month, going to Italy on holiday, and then doing nothing for another month...

...But then I'm not Oxbridge material. If you are though, do the best you can and don't let anyone stop you. You'll probably end up very successful. But be careful not to overdo it, make sure you take some time for yourself.
Good luck!

ps. Sorry if this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, I am in a bit of a scatter-brained mood at the moment...

Is it too late to apply for a scholarship or something? I don't think I can afford the money.

Ah. Will you be moving out of your sixth form?

I know. The price is so ridiculous for 2 weeks.
Apply for a scholarship in November 2018.
Register your interest.
Also yep I'm changing schools lol!

Oh so it's too late? If so, there's no way I can afford that much money. I've already used up my savings on AoPs books xD
@Doonesbury how good are summer schools for uni applications? The only really useful activity from the original post I can see is the tutoring, but I could be wrong.

Personally I would say that is a much better use of your money.

I think the most useful thing from that list that i'll definitely mention is my ORA scholarship. Not to mention I'll be taught Engineering by actual Cambridge professors. So who knows I might come across my interviewer in my two weeks there. Also Imre Leader helps with those doing Mathematics

How???? I'd say my learning style is similar to yours (memorise everything) and I can easily get a good grade in biology, more so than the other sciences because it involves more memorising and less logic. It was my first mock this week so I had the whole weekend to prepare so I am hoping for a good grade.
They're going alright  I just finished my first week of mocks (so I sat English Language, biology 1 and 2, physics 1 and 2, chemistry 1 and 2, maths 1, French reading and listening, and German listening) and it wasn't too bad but I know I need to put a bit more effort into revising haha
How about you?
