A Level guides for GCSE English?

Hi,
I read a few days ago that a lot of high-achievers in English Literature buy the A level guides for their texts to get a better understanding and this helps them get the highest grades. Do you think this is worthwhile? The only text there are A level guides on for my exam is Macbeth anyway, so I would just get the one.

Also, does anyone know of any really good revision resources for Animal Farm? I hate that my school chose this text, whyy couldn't we do An Inspector Calls like everyone elseee

Thanks
