I wouldn't say that was feminism per se, but I think I get the point you are trying to make.

What is concerning to me is the rise not of the alt right or the alt left but the rise in the desire for authoritarianism. It seems to be on the increase on both sides frankly.

Does it concern me that Trump is trying to block immigrants just because they come from a certain place or have a certain religion? Yes.

Does it equally concern me that Canada recently passed a law (C-16) that allows the state in effect to try to control what you say? Yes

Despite the fact that both countries have presidents from the opposite ends of the spectrum, they are both doing the same thing.

History shows the truly awful consequences of authoritarianism, be it from the right (e.g. Nazism) or the left (e.g. Maoism). It's the rise in the advocacy for authoritarianism that concerns me, no matter where people sit on the political spectrum. These extreme idealogues on both the left and the right, and their long term consequences are what would should be focussed IMO.

So going back to your post, if you look at what is happening, there is a battle for control between 2 fairly extreme factions of people. They are both employing the same tactics and both attempting to dictate what people do, and both have the same capacity for authoritarianism. We should be focussed on reducing authoritarian policies and discourse, which ever side of the fence they come from.

I totally agree with what you say. The elites and the establishment are aiming to have total control over us as if we’re puppets... we’re being turned into robots, our identities are being taken away from us, our genders are being taken away from us, our communities are being taken away from us. We’re being forced to work longer hours than ever, to have longer hours at school/university, we’re being fed more of the media lies everyday... the world is socially regressing... we aren’t allowed to be individuals anymore...

Both Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn are part of the establishment and are puppets to the elites, but they’re just branding themselves differently... Corbyn branding himself as a “threat to the establishment” and this socialist ‘saviour’... if he was really a threat to the establishment he would have been found out a long time ago... no way would Corbyn have got to where he is now if he was really that much of a threat - and even if he has anti-establishment views he’s got no chance of implementing them if he were to be in power... And then Donald Trump in the US branding himself as “anti establishment” when he has been part of the establishment and the elite all his life....

I’m worried about this world - as soon as someone who isn’t part of the establishment comes along and presents a threat to them 9/10 they’re murdered... we cannot take on the establishment these days. The media’s power is at its all time height - we’re led to believe for example that North Korea are a massive threat to the world - it’s all lies, it’s the US elites scaring people to justify another potential war to kill loads of people... really scary...

I’m studying the handmaid’s tale and the almost patriarchal biases in language are one of the reasons the women get oppressed in the book. Not saying it should be changed but something to think about

You do know that Margaret Atwood is no longer considered feminist enough for feminists?

A bunch of them freaked at her because she thinks #metoo is crazy.

This has been debunked so many times over so we shouldn't keep hearing it.
It was Obamas plan before he left office and the so called Muslim ban still allows 82% of the world's Muslims so therefore isn't a Muslim ban.

Why?

Well, for starters, the word has been around longer and more people are familiar with it.Not to mention most of the world has become acclimatized to it due to it being used so frequently in everyday language.

Oh dear, well I do consider some of the metoo movement to be a little extreme. I think that hopefully be small minority of them!

Is it really a movement though? What makes it anything more than a hashtag?
This cringefest of a politician just keeps on giving.

'Mankind' is not exclusionary. It's used for both sexes. Pretty much always has. He sees 'man' in a word and thinks "Oh no, sexism! It excludes women!" But what about 'human', or the word 'woman' itself? Does he know anything at all about words? And all those morons clapping.... Ugh.
10.

Humankind is just a longer, clumsier version of mankind. And still contains 'man'.
How about they don't do that? thanks
What an embarrassment how did he win? oh yeah
