If a child is born on 31/10/2005 are they in yr7 or yr8

I won’t try doing the maths but they’d be the youngest in their year rather than the oldest👍

Year 7
They were 12 in October 2017 which is a month after the school year starts. Just take their age and subtract 5 to see what year they’re in, BUT only works if they’ve had their birthday in that school year.

this current school year they were 12.
I was born in the October and I started year 7 just before I was 12.

my birthday is on 31/10 Halloween baby I was one of the oldest in my years. we also had September babies in our class the cut off is August. so in a year at school in UK Sept is oldest and August is youngest
